"Acabei de sair de uma leitura doce e agradável e nada melhor do que iniciar uma com características totalmente oposta (sim, existem coisas melhores, mas, enfim kk), é um livro beem forte, que nos passa um pouco do clima de quem vive desse esporte. Achei interessante as razões ou forças que movem os lutadores, alguns trazem todo um orgulho nacional por trás (Pacquiao, John Duddy), outros parecem só gostar de bater (Emile Griffith, Roy Joner jr, etc). Eu desconhecia os casos trágicos de Ray Mancini vs Duk Koo Kim (procurem saber, o juiz da luta e a mãe do Duk -que morreu nesta luta- se suicidaram e o Mancini se aposentou depois) e do Benny Paret vs Emile Griffith (Tem vídeo no youtube e é chocante =/ ). As imagens "climatizam" muito bem os ambientes retratados, enfim gostei bastante da experiência, conheci um pouco sobre algo que praticamente desconhecia."

Ia menarik, kata-kata semangat dari peninju,coach malah aktor macam Sylvester Stallone pun ada. Aku beli sebab aku minat boxing, dan kebetulan ada jualan murah dekat big bad wolf. Maka aku beli buku idola boxing aku seperti muhammad ali. Buku ni buat aku lagi semangat nak belajar boxing.

It's a book of photographs. Excellent portraits, quotes organised by Thomas Hauser, who also wrote the intro. Fantastic reviews. Left me a wee bit cold.

Brought it in the old street in Oamaru. Read it in a day to get my Goodreads stats up. But I enjoyed so many of the fighters were from the era when I followed boxing super close.
