I bought this in 2006, when I decided to start a blog. I'd go on to have about five, but was forced to abandon all of them when GoogleAds suddenly reduced their pay rate ... and then did it again. Even in 2006, this book was out of date. I'd go to follow the directions, and discovered Blogger had changed so much that the directions were now irrelevant.

I did learn a bit about basic coding from this book, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one. I'd been away from the internet for five years due to homelessness. When I became rehomed, and realized that I needed the internet to find a job, man, was I in for a culture shock. This book helped ease some of the pain of that shock.

I remember reading the word "blog" and thought it was some sort of in- joke. It sounded like the noise you would make if a tentacle wrapped around your neck. "Giant squid around here? Don't be redic -- BLOG!"

This is a publishing opportunity that I am not sure needed to be seized. I read through this on a couple of lunch breaks when I was working at the bookstore, and the best thing I can say about it is that it convinced me that I needed to publish a blog with Blogger (I no have five, for no apparent reason other than because I can). But for a complete novice with design and web publishing, this could be a helpful shot in the arm, though one could probably get the same info in nearly as clear a format from the Blogger help menus.

As happens so often with technology, things change quickly. Much of the information in this book was unhelpful because blogger has changed it's format. Many things are not listed in the same places that it shows in the book.

I picked up a couple useful tips. Though I think I need a beginners guide to HTML as all of that went over my head.

Suka nge-blog?

This book was so well written. When it comes to learning stuff like this I either give up or have to read the book several times. Not the case with this one. I've added her other books to my To-Read list.

Very good book if you are just starting to use Blogger. Though I've been using it for over a year, I discovered a couple things I didn't know.

Good review on Blogger. I've used Blogger before and I needed a quick refresher course. Great resources. Lots of illustrations.
