A good introduction to the application of classical retoric to early music. It helps explain things but mainly offers/acts as a dive bord to new subjects. If you set your expectations to this use it is fantastic!

This is an excellent survey of the history of rhetoric and how it can be applied to music. Very well-organized and easy to follow. I plan to read it a second time in the near future.
