Welcome to the second story in the Attracelli Family Series!
Thomas Attracelli is trying to interview the lovely Victoria Anderson to fill a critical role on his team. Unfortunately, the more he talks to her, the more he wants her in his bed, not on his team. Her delicate beauty and soul stirring smile would distract him and create a problem on the team. Finding out she has a fiance puts her out of his grasp and he relents, allowing her to join his team.
Victoria Anderson's life was predictable, stable....boring. She wants just one last adventure before she settles down with her fiance. What she doesn't anticipate is the need that Thomas evokes within her, causing a yearning she's never experienced before, never even knew could exist.
The only problem? Victoria realizes that she's "The Other Woman". Trying to do the right thing and stay out of the picture nearly destroys her, but she can't share Thomas with someone else.
USA Today™ best-selling author Elizabeth Lennox writes contemporary romance novels featuring sheiks, business tycoons, royalty, and other sexy rich men. Her male lead characters are smart, driven and determined, but can still be sensitive and vulnerable. Elizabeth’s female lead characters come from a variety of backgrounds. They are strong, intelligent and independent, while still feminine and caring.
Although she wanted to be a romance novelist since the eighth grade, that dream only became a reality for her in 2009 and a full time job in 2012. Along the way, she received a BS in History and held different jobs in the real estate, government consulting, and financial industries. All during that time, though, she was always writing, using her personal experiences, dreams, and travels throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean as backdrops for her stories. To date, she has written over eighty books and sold over 5.1 million copies. Her free novellas have been downloaded over 8 million times since 2013.
Elizabeth lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. Their home is just outside of Washington, D.C., and many of her novels are set in this area.
There is the potential (hence one star) for a good book series following the members of the Attracelli family. I obtained this book after reading Never Dare a Tycoon which certainly impressed ip me and i read with pleasure Never Dare a Tycoon, which I purchased on recommendation. This book did not appear to have any major typos, the grammar seemed good and yet here were no glaring inconsistencies within the story. However I was sorely disappointed on reading Falling for the Boss. I was shocked by the unforgivably bad spelling (definitely not typos) and more and have noted a few further in this moan. Should have taken more note of other reviews which point these out.
I will not download and certainly will not purchase another Elizabeth Lennox book until I I am reassured that this shoddiness is a thing of the past in her writings. If authors wish people to spend their hard earned money (or even when downloading free - there should be no lowering of standards) on their books they should reat their readers with a little more respect and make the effort to read through their work or have their endeavours properly proofread/checked.
One positive was Falling for the Boss was a freebie (even though I had to subscribe on her website - I have now unsubscribed!) so I didn't waste my money.
Just a few of the issues I came across: 'Waive / waived / waiving' used instead of 'wave / waved / waving' The masculine 'fiancé' used instead of the feminine 'fiancée' Character's names misspelt. Order of siblings changed. Wrong tenses used 'You're' instead of 'your'
I don't think I am difficult to please but I do love to read all sorts from Jane Austen to J.R. Ward and there is nothing better than quiet downtime after a long day at work with a little romantic escapism. It is very disheartening to not be able to enjoy a story because of such glaring and appalling errors.
I loved this book couldn't put it down. Victoria Anderson applied for a job that would require a lot of challenging work and the best part a lot of traveling, but it would only be for one year which was fine by her because she was planning on settling down with her boyfriend Brad. Thomas Attraceli didn't want Victoria on the team because he found her very attractive and didn't want the distraction, but when the head of human relations Margie Peterman told him that she had a boyfriend he changed his mined. After working together for months they both couldn't stop thinking about each other, but they would try to keep busy with work. One night Thomas couldn't take it anymore and finally made the choice to see if Victoria felt the same about him like he felt about her. After months of spending time together, Victoria couldn't take it anymore and broked it off with Thomas when she heard him talking to Antonia on the phone. Thomas became angry with Victoria that he started treating her bad infront of the team, but after talking it out Victoria realised who Antonia really was. On one of their weekends off Thomas & Victoria went to his family dinner at his brothers house were they all saw her wearing a big ring.
It was nice. I think time zones don't match here. At one point it's 10 p.m. in Paris and Barry calls from Washington where it's 3 a.m. It may seem nitpicky but it's little things like this that annoy me the most. There were also some spelling mistakes, wrong tenses and other minor mistakes.
Randomly found a loose paper copy of this in my town’s free mini library. So I thought, why not? I have regrets… I think she was trying to mimic the Bridgerton novels, but in a novella form? Third person narrator, but all telling, no showing. The main characters were very short sighted and grated on me. Honestly, not sure why I finished it. 🤷🏻♀️
I found a sample of this book on iBooks with a note stating that you can get this book for free if you sign on for email updates at www.elizabethlennox.com you can download the PDF into iBooks, kindle or stanza so it should be good for everyone.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it and may have to look into others. Victoria applies for a job which has lots of hours and travelling this seems odd since she's in a long term relationship which is heading towards marriage but her partner seems happy with this and she wants to travel before she settles down. Her new boss Thomas is not what she was expecting and fights the attraction from the first meeting, this attraction grows the more time she spends with him and it appears as if it's mutual. This book had some good characters particularly Mike and Bob, the humour and working relationship between the four of them is very good. I liked the way the tension and attraction built up between Victoria and Thomas, some of the book was silly and contrived but ultimately it's a romance. A nice easy read which had the bonus of being free.
I loved this book! This story was awesome! I had to read it from PDF, wish I could have saved on Kindle so I can read it over and over again, that's how much I loved this book! They should make a movie out of this story!
