I found Mutige Menschen to be a very inspiring book. What particularly resonated with me was its message that courage is not something a person simply possesses from the very beginning. Rather, courage is a quality that can grow and develop, often through other people who inspire us and serve as role models. Especially in the first few chapters, I came across many thoughts and insights that go far beyond the individual biographies and can easily be applied to our own lives. At the same time, the book repeatedly sparks curiosity about other remarkable people and while reading it, I discovered several new books that I would now like to read. What I particularly appreciated is that the people portrayed are not simply presented as extraordinary heroes and heroines. Instead, the book explores how they came to develop their convictions and what ultimately motivated them to stand up for what they believed in. This makes their stories feel much more relatable and shows that moral courage does not necessarily begin with an extraordinary personality. At its core, the book conveys the idea that democracy and freedom should never be taken for granted, but must be preserved and defended by people who are willing to stand up for them. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who values freedom, individuality, equality and justice. Despite dealing with some difficult historical and political topics, the book is written in an accessible and easy to understand-way and is explicitly aimed at younger readers as well. For me, this makes it a book that I would recommend to almost anyone from around the age of 12 onwards.

Eine gute Übersicht über mutige Menschen wie der Titel schon sagt. Einige bekannter, andere weniger und doch haben sie alle eines gemeinsam: Sie kämpen/ten für Frieden, Freiheit und Gerechtigkeit. Mir gefiehl es sehr gut, da ich einen guten Eindruck der einzelnen Personen und ihren Taten bekommen habe.
