Another fun side Dragonlance story. Lots of good action and some good lore of Krynn. Would recommend to a friend.

This takes place in the Dragonlance setting and is a second book of a trilogy. This continues the story of Linsha Majere as she survives the attack by the Tamraks. She meets up with fellow knights, centaurs, and members of the Legion as they travel the Plains of Dust to warn the inhabitants of the impeding attack from the Tamraks.

I really liked this book and this trilogy is getting better and better. The first book must be read to understand what is happening in this book. Linsha is a strong willed character that I like and I connected with her emotionally as she fights for a cause and when she is deceived. The pace builds up its tension as the plot moves along and we are left wondering if secrets will get revealed and what the consequences will be.

This is one of the better books set in Dragonlance and I am looking forward to completing this trilogy.

Second book in the trilogy - and I finished this in a day. Even though things looked gloomy after the first novel, the second one only makes it look gloomier and gloomier - not much hope, especially not since both Linsha and her close friend, the bronze dragon/kittycat (and man!) Crucible are in constant danger - and even Varia gets into trouble that might be far more, than even this tiny owl is capable of getting out of.
After the survivors of the battle for Mirage are almost wiped out, they retreat into the Plains in hope of finding supporters and being able to fight back against the Tamak invading army.
And on top of it all, the traitor that Linsha has long suspected was in the midst of the survivors finally reveal himself - much to the chock and dismay of Linsha and her friends and followers, and Linsha ends up in the worst predicament of her life...

Finished this up today, and I have to say, I’m a little disappointed with it. While I’ve loved other books by Herbert, like Dragon’s Bluff and Legacy of Steel, I am having a hard time really enjoying this series. It makes me a bit sad because Linsha and The Clandestine Circle were my first introductions to Dragonlance. I think the setting and story are just a little depressing to me. And I enjoyed reading about the Plains of Dust in other books, like the Barbarians Trilogy. I still want to know what happens next though, even if the surprise twists were things I thought everyone already knew! Especially the twist with Crucible; I thought Linsha figured it out back in Clandestine Circle! The final chapter sets up what I hope to be an exciting conclusion. I do enjoy Mary H. Herbert’s writing however, and to me, that makes up for quite a lot.

wow,am thoroughly enjoying the linsha trilogy, she is such a well loved heroine but she is so gullible she is getting caught in every trap set for her and in this book linsha gets to lose all her friends and fellow knights!! its quite a brutal book and must admit half way through I could not stop reading and when I finally switched off the light to go to sleep I could not sleep a wink for worrying about her!! the dragons also suffer tremendous losses and I am so worried for poor crucible!! still loving that wonderful owl, at times its so good that she is present as she often saves the day for everyone especially linsha!!! The addad ur and the brutes are heartless and the spy in the midst of the knights and militia is giving everything away but who is the spy??

Great continuation of the series, lots of action, and entertaining plot. Even if I did see the two big "twists" at the end coming from the very beginning of the book.

A great book, so far best of the trilogy, and up there with the original 6 dragonlance books.

A good continuation of the trilogy. I was correct in my guess of who the traitor was and Crucible's human form. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
