Gennady Trofimovich Chernenko (Russian: Геннадий Трофимович Черненко) author of many fascinating books, Gennady Trofimovich Chernenko, before becoming a children's writer, worked for a long time as an engineer, saw a lot and learned a lot. He graduated from the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute, but he was interested not only in ships and the sea. He was especially fascinated by aviation. He became a parachutist and made several dozen parachute jumps ...

He dreamed of writing books for curious children. In 1977, his first book, A Journey to the Country of Robots, was published. Then there were stories about aviation - "Our Wings", a book about space designers - "But still we will fly!", About ancient inventors - "For the benefit and glory of the Fatherland", about the first scientists - "Creators of Russian Sciences", and many more others. Gennady Chernenko has already written about twenty books. Some of them have been translated into other languages: English, Spanish, Armenian, Latvian.
