This true account of my beloved brother Kelly Dean Gentry and his murder in Mansfield, Ohio - on June 11, 1970. This book gives an accurate and complete account of Dean’s death; as well as the abuse my family suffered at the hands of cops-and with the help of a motorcycle gang. Martin Yant is a crusader and he left no stone unturned in order to tell Dean’s story. This is a must read for those who read true crime stories.
I enjoyed reading this book because of my familiarity with the area that was the setting for this book. Much of the info was new to me, although I did recognize names. At the beginning I was horrified at much of the corruption. By the middle, I was wondering what the other side of the story was; and at the end it felt like a partisan mud-slinging. I'm not sure what made it that way for me. Obviously the city was in a sad state, I hope it has improved. Sadly, I concur that many cities have the same issues, and our society as a whole does not seem to have a lot of character or integrity.
