A proven system for improving your own work and for working better in a team Used by such organizations as the Walt Disney Company, Silicon Graphics, the Federal Reserve Bank, and the CIA, the Enneagram is a proven psychological system based on nine number types that helps people achieve self-awareness and develop strategic approaches to interpersonal interactions. In Bringing Out the Best in Yourself at Work , Enneagram teacher and business consultant Ginger Lapid-Bodga shows professionals how to apply this popular tool to their work as a way to improve their productivity and help them build positive relationships among coworkers. This practical guide explains how to use the Enneagram to:
The enneagram is probably one of the best system to classify human personalities. A topic that is very much dear to me, which the author tackled in a cold and impersonal manner, unfortunately. Wasted potential, but still some good advice here and there.
This book really helped me to understand more about myself and where I tend to behave in times of happiness and stress. I feel like this book has continued to play an active role in my constant evolvement as a communicator, especially in a leadership capacity and roles where I engage with many different people and styles. So basically, life in general.
I had the fortunate privilege of studying with Dr. Lapid-Bogda in her Enneagram for Business training programs. This book was a required pre-read and it's a must read for anyone who wants to understand how to utilize the strengths of the Enneagram in an organizational setting.
A wealth of information as on the Enneagram, especially as it relates to inter-office relationships, but better read as a reference text as opposed most other Enneagram works.
This was the first book on the enneagram that i read and was amazed at the insight it gave me into my personality. Others that i read didnt seem quite so accurate or complete. If anybody likes personality catagorizing systems at all i would recomend trying the enneagram system. I found it most enlightening for myself and family members. Infact i still think of myself in the ways i read about in this book.
I am so glad I bought this book! It is my first Enneagram guide after merely reading some information on the Internet. Covering almost all, if not all, aspects needed for self-improvement, the book broadens my horizon about people and of course myself considerably :-) and not only is the suggestion about teamwork issues useful with mini-teamwork project at college, but they are perfect for strengthening a personal relationship as well. Cannot find any reason to give less then five stars! :-)
I think anyone who works in a team setting should read this. It's very effective at giving one a perspective on how they function and how their co-workers function in a practical way. It also gives good insights into how people can function more effectively with others. I found it useful in considering my job, but also feel like it's applicable to other types of relationships.
I liked how the author gave concrete examples and strategies to evaluate how both you behave/react to situations and how others react to the same set of circumstances.
