The eighth title in the new "Usborne Very First Reading" series, designed for younger children to introduce them to reading together with their parents. Parents and children take turns to read from the page (the text clearly marked for who should be reading) and as the books progress in the series the adults read less and less and the child more and more. There are puzzles at the end to check the child's understanding of the text and guidance notes for the parents. Beautiful illustrations help to motivate beginner readers.
Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.
This was a quaint short story for young children with sweet illustrations (being a mouse fan I maybe biased). The quiz at the end looked suitable for the target audience.
This story focuses on a mouse that can't sleep and decides to go the moon. It's a story that isn't very deep, but a good read for young kids. An easy book that tells a simple story. This book is in a series of books that focus on a very young reading audience.
