Simply the best beginner-to-intermediate level poker book available. Introduces many important concepts and does so in a manner which is simultaneously readable and informative. The rating is not because the book still provides revolutionary theory - it doesn't, and I'm not sure it ever did - but because of how it can transform one's game from primitive into a somewhat nuanced game, especially if one reads and understands the last few chapters aimed at moving beyond SSNL.

As with all poker books from a few years ago, the limit at which this book is aimed is an over-estimate; rather than the 200NL it claims to be aimed at, I'd say this is probably a good read for 5NL-25NL players; long-term winners at 50NL or above may wish to skim this but likely won't learn anything new.

Got invited to a poker game without ever having played before, and used this book to prep. A lot went over my head, but I got the basics of the mechanics of the game, distinguishing what hands to play, pot control, and understanding how to profile opponents. Awesome outcome - I won! Can't wait to play some more games and come back to this book after I've played a few more hands.

From what I can tell, this book was a beast. Unfortunately, it did not help me much since I wasn't a good enough player to take advantage of what it had to offer.

This is not the promised sequel to "Professional No-Limit Hold'em: Volume I" but it is an excellent followup. The concepts, ideas and implications of their earlier book are put into practice here in the $1/$2 blind six-max online no-limit hold'em game.

I recommended it for anyone looking to play no-limit hold'em at professional level. But given it's high cost, advanced and dense material, and lack of new ideas I would recommend mastering quite a few other texts first.

This is a really good book to read if you have many NLHE concepts down. This book gives you a lot of things to think about from your game to what you should be looking for while you play. I marked this as read, but I will be reading this a few times. Some concepts require a sledgehammer to get through to me.

very very good. Probably a great book to read immediately after Theory of Poker if you are interested in playing 6-max.
