Really enjoyed this historical romance which takes place in the mid-1800s. Sassy Malone is the child of Irish immigrants, and has grown up poor with the burden of financial responsibility for her younger siblings after her mother passes and her father is injured in construction work. She takes advantage of unexpected opportunities to head to Washington State as part of a ship of mail order brides. She meets up with Hunter who has lived through his own troubles being half Native American, but has created a financially, successful life for himself. The book's theme relates to secrets we carry that impact how we live, and the revelation of those secrets is life changing for all.

one of my favorites. I love Georgina gentry. Sassy is either one heck of a fast thinker or just plain lucky but which ever way she is a fun heroine.
