Excellent explanations with diagrams and photos of in-progress and completed dolls of all kinds. This book, however, is not geared towards complete beginners. It wouldn't teach you the basics of sewing a cloth doll, for example. I would say it aims to educate and expand the understanding of high-intermediate to semi-advanced sewists and sculptors to move into doll-making. My single complaint is that leg and hip joint designs using hidden bead spacers and shown, and shoulder joints are *mentioned* but never shown That is the one joint I *really* wanted to see explained with internal jointing, and am STILL searching for a good visual explanation of possibilities there. Other than that, highly recommend.
Detailed manual on the construction of all types of dolls, beautifully illustrated and an absolutely fascinating red as I try to piece together a body of my own.
