I really enjoyed this book, having been inspired to find out more about Susanna Wesley from a Women In Church History devotional. This book is well researched and tells the story of Susanna and her very difficult life, and strong faith. I liked how the author included bits from letters and writings by Susanna and her family. I feel very inspired by this book and may even resort to flinging an apron over my head to get some quiet time with God, as Susannah did.

Reads well. Reminds me why diaries and letters are such important primary sources. Her life was truly one of sacrifice and longsuffering to raise her children with what little material wealth she had. God definitely had plans for John, he second son, the founder of the Methodist movement. I had wanted to know how John grew up.
