Times are hard for the March sisters - their father's away at war and the family is short on money - but these girls don't dwell on such matters and always look on the bright side. Whether it's performing a play or getting on with day-to-day chores, the sisters can find the fun in any situation - but what fate holds in store for the girls, only time will tell.

They met a young boy that lives with his grandfather. But when Laurie asks Jo to marry him and Beth was very sick things all of a sudden change for her! Read the book to find out what happens!
A great classic story, the short version for kids was a great read for some of my students this year and they really enjoyed all the characters from start to end!
I had read this book a whilllllle ago! But, it still kept true to what I think of the story: boring and unnecessary. I don't get why there is such a want for this book. I might give the original one a try, since that could be better, but still...
DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!! this is the worst book i have ever read in my life. there is nothing exiting inside this book and found myself falling asleep every time i started to read this book. After reading this book and going through devistating pain the ending was terible and everything went wrong and was not even worth reading for an A+ in my language class (which i did get thankfully).
This book, is a abridged version of the classical tale of woe, romance, friendship, and life. Little Woman is about four sisters who discover that they must all work together to keep their family strong, after their father leaves for war. But all the while, things change, the sisters love for each other remains strong, but they "experience life's many trials and joys" as well.
Enjoying this with Clara right now. Chapters are the perfect length, and there are plenty of illustrations. Vocabulary and occasional subject matter are a little above her level, but still fun to read together.
I don't think we ever finished this...I was afraid of how Clara would react to Beth's death. Might try again next year.
This has to be my all time favorite book! I remember reading this over and over again as a little girl. This was probably the book that made me LOVE to read:)
