I generally do not read 'Intrigue' as the publisher lists a number of characters in the beginning and one of those is always the 'badie'. This takes the mystery and suspense out of the story for the most part as the list of suspects is very limited.
With this book, however, I am glad I made an exception - while the list of suspects was still limited, the storyline and subject matter in itself more than made up for it. It concerns human trafficking - a VERY dominant subject in today's day and age - specifically young girls ... or not so young as it turns out.
Debra Webb delves into the subject matter with vigour, drawing the reader in from page one and not letting go to the very last page. There are unexpected twists and turns despite the very limited suspect list. Well Done!

A little girl is abducted by her father and sold to a child trafficking ring for drug money just before Christmas. The Colby agency pulls out all the stops to find her and reunite her with her mother by Christmas. It’s a great plot with really good character development too.

An exciting story of a child's kidnapping. The ex-husband has taken his child and sold her to some very unsavory characters. The ex-wife is in the hospital being injured by the ex-husband. Now there are more exes involved. The PI firm involved with this case is merging with another. The ex-wife must now team up with her ex-husband to find the child. This story was fast paced and exciting.
