For Valentines Day our bookclub is reading a romantic comedy. This book is #3 in this series so there are things that were referred to in the previous novels. I may have enjoyed it more if I had read the previous novels.
I will keep reading to find a book I enjoyed more.
The romance in this book was tentative soon to be continued in the next novel.

Okay first let me get this off my chest - HUDSON DID NOT NEED TO BE DONE SO DIRTY IN THIS BOOK! Yes I understand this is not a romance, but woman’s fiction. And Emma goes on a wonderful journey of self discovery throughout the series. But Hudson has always been there to support her!! He has been nothing but crystal clear about his intentions and what he wants from a relationship. And she literally runs away from him - like a child. She cannot hold a single adult conversation with the man and just relies on him for support.

And honestly the plot with the lodging license and Ed felt really childish this time around. Why would you keep that important license in a broken bathroom? Also why couldn’t we see something new? For example, they started with Emma’s cousin coming to claim the property a second time but it didn’t go anywhere.

Now the book does have a lot of redeeming storylines. I really liked Liddy and Frank. I felt their story was messy and real, as every family is. I liked how Morgan and Pip tied in and the emotions and flow were really well done. I also liked Claud the neighbour and how he helped Emma take down Ed. And lastly Lisa and Tom, the guests, added to the fun chaos. I really enjoyed how this book brought back Emma’s painting and how Lisa helped build Emma’s confidence.

In the end, Emma has a family who makes her feel loved and a divorce from Troy. She has closure and money (from both the divorce and selling her painting to Lisa) to start her new life. I feel this story has concluded for me and don’t know if I’ll be continuing. We shall see…

I’m not sure you can quite call this a romance series anymore but I guess there is enough of it still there. Third book in a row. I’m still enjoying the characters and plan to keep going. Several lingering bits from the earlier books were definitely closed and sealed here in Book 3. These characters continue to grow in family. My only issue with the writing is too much rehashing, although some of the redundancies make it possible to read as stand-alone. Light, refreshing and enjoyable!

I gave up on this book.

the house is a money pit, problem after problem. also why aren't anyone turning off water before they work on any part of the plumbing system? thought that was rule #1.

done with the series too....not interested to read any more Just One series...

Very sweet book 3 of 3 although book two and three were an extremely quick read and could have easily been one book

Will Emma ever catch a break in the renovation of her B&B? I hope so! At least she has a great support system in Lola, Hudson, and the rest of her family.

The same as before. Odd that the Audiobook is a British narrator, but it all is California based. But the story is sweet and fun. I am enjoying it and look forward to the next books.
