First off, I only continued to see the actual ending. I steadily grew to be filled with disgust with the main character. Her indecisiveness drove me up a wall. First she didn’t want a relationship….then when it was removed, she wanted it. Then she didn’t want a public proposal….but was upset that when it didn’t happen. And on and on. Why would she give an art gallery her painting to sell and accept cash? How silly. Sigh.

Of the five book this one was not my favorite. It felt like Sophie was grasping for filler by using a lot of descriptive unnecessary information in this final book to give it more reading material as if she had writers block. I wanted more in-depth information on the characters, romance, family and an ending to this story without the description of surroundings, buildings, the restored house, and areas visited. I became bored and started losing interest. I wished that Emma would find her reason to begin painting her story of journeys taken with her Aunt Pip in the bucket list adventures. I'm thrilled this had a happy ending but I just wish Emma's new found strengths came out in her battle with the new resort and Ed!
Overall, I like this series.. I like the differences in the Characters.. That being said Emma is a character that is written as the best thing, but she sure likes to whine!! I feel there is no way to please her at times.. So I took a Star off this review...
The author seemed to have run out of things to write about in this book and the previous one for that matter. She drones on and on about things like a sunset for three months, the entryway of cliffside, another 3 months. It reminds me of a writing assignment in school when the teacher says you have to have a certain number of words. It's like she had nothing of importance or no content of quality to write about so she fills off the page with things that don't need to be there. Emma is kind of whiny in this book too. Also if you like me you are listening to the audio version of this book The reader sounds computer generated and everybody's voice sounds the same.
I have generally loved this series however I found this 5th and final book hard going. it felt like the there wasn't much of a story so the author used a lot of describing words for people, places, and things. there was also a lot of errors with the wrong peoples names being used in places and a part towards the end where they closed the door but then there's a description of the situation and the wind blowing through the open door. a lot of inconsistencies that the authors proof reader has missed. It was a shame because up to the end of book 4 I really enjoyed the series
DNF - they changed narrators in the final book of a 5 book series and having gotten used to and liking the first narrator I could not listen to this look.
This might be my least favorite. Still enjoyed it, but there were a lot of holes. I wish there was way more with character progression, rather than an entire chapter describing a sail boat.
