Rate this book
Everything changed for Peter Parker after a genetically altered spider bit him. He used to be a scrawny high-school student who struggled to defend himself against the bigger, stronger guys in his school. He doesn't have to struggle anymore. With his new spider-like abilities, Peter can spin webs, climb buildings, and sense danger before it happens. Peter can do everything a spider can do, and more. Find out what it's like to be a superhero along with Peter as he adjusts to his new life as Spider-Man.

This is a good book for beginning independent readers who love Spider-Man. No action or adventure, this is just a basic introduction to the character and how Peter Parker came to be Spider-Man.

I liked this book because I learned Spider-Man’s fingers can stick to anything. I like how he practiced a lot to get better at shooting his webs. Finally, I think the book cover looks cool!

Pretty basic and repetitive. A lot of emphasis on his physical changes and less focus on the actual crimes he deals with.

A great children's book that rates high with me. My four-year granddaughter loves Spider-Man and I was looking for an easy-to-read book for her that had bright, colorful illustration with easy-to-read text that she could follow and this one fit the bill. It tells the story of Peter Parker, how he was bullied and how he uses his special powers to help people. The text is simple, easy words and these words are showcased in boxes on each page, sometimes a few words to a page and other times many sentences. The illustrations are not of a cartoon nature but are humanistic, real pictures and show Peter Parker as himself and as Spider-Man. This book was a hit at grandma's house.

This is a fun book intended for younger readers in either first or second grade. The book follows the events of the first Spiderman movie. Well it generally uses simple sentences, it also includes some challenging vocabulary that will cause students to stop and think about what they are reading. This would be a good book for students to read who are interested in superheroes. The fact that it is based on a movie that many children have probably seen already will also help them feel more comfortable when reading words that They do not understand.

My 3-year-old absolutely LOVES Spiderman and it was only helped by this book, written in very simple language. He has memorized it! Too cute!

This was really good. It was about how Peter Parker became spider-man. Even though it was a level 1 storybook it was still really good the read.
