Steve “Doc” Baumgartner--alone, naked, face flushed with pleasure.
Carrie spies him indulging in a sexy, private moment. Though she’s sworn to herself she's through with guys, and her roommate-turned-lover Maureen is more than enough to satisfy her, Carrie can't stop fantasizing about Doc.
Then Carrie gets her chance. A summer getaway to Key West, the threat of Maureen’s zealot boyfriend, and Doc’s hunger for pleasure prove to be the perfect cocktail to lower Carrie’s inhibitions.
Smell the ocean air, pour yourself a drink, prepare for a summer to remember. It’s time to Meet the Baumgartners.
**If you've read one of the books in the Baumgartners series, you'll love this prequel to the series. If you've never read any of them - Meet the Baumgartners! Your life will never be the same again!**
Selena Kitt is a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling and award-winning author of erotic and romance fiction. She is one of the highest selling erotic writers in the business with over two million books sold!
Her writing embodies everything from the spicy to the scandalous, but watch out-this kitty also has sharp claws and her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.
Her books EcoErotica (2009), The Real Mother Goose (2010) and Heidi and the Kaiser (2011) were all Epic Award Finalists. Her only gay male romance, Second Chance, won the Epic Award in Erotica in 2011. Her story, Connections, was one of the runners-up for the 2006 Rauxa Prize, given annually to an erotic short story of “exceptional literary quality.”
This was a hot, dirty, sexy read, (three of my favorite things) I love Selena Kitt’s writing style, and I would definitely recommend this, and will probably continue the series...
I couldn't resist after reading Doc and Mrs. B's Babysitter sexcapade, I had to see how these two met...an it soooo did not disappoint. I couldn't believe Mrs. B was dubbed he "Ice Queen", just because she had a special friends with benefit with her roommate, didn't mean she has to sleep with everyone else. All it took was one look at Doc, a few late night rendezvous and the first of their many trips to the Florida keys.
Meet the Baumgartners was another juicy treat, I still think the Babysitter one was hotter, more illicit and mostly because Mrs. B and Doc was in their prime and owned their sexuality. Doc I have to say was just as hot then as he is now and I can't wait to read more stories of this insatiable man with an stamina to deliver pleasure!
Every now and then, I enjoy reading erotica, but, I much prefer it if there is an actual plot, rather than just pure sex spattered across each and every page. Unfortunately, this short and sweet book fits into the "no plot" category. In all honesty, the dialogue was pretty ghastly.
The sex scenes contained within this book are rather clichéd, and there were some moments where I was tutting, and possibly even rolling my eyes. If you're looking for a book crammed full of sex scenes, look no further! This one seems to have a selection of everything. There was nothing really jaw dropping in here though, I mean, I've read worse!
When I neared the end of the book, I thought I had a couple more chapters left, but the book ended abruptly, then the author had around ten pages where she was advertising her own work. I get advertising your stuff, but ten pages? That really irritates me. Apart from little niggles, this book was a fast read, it was something different, but I'm glad I didn't take it to work.
You want some mutual masturbation? This has you covered. You want vanilla sex? You got it. How about some lesbian love? Got that too. A three way? That's also here.
This was free on amazon and for porn it was pretty good, but the dialogue was atrocious.
Carrie is done with men, and she is in a friends-with-benefits kind of relationship with her roommate Maureen.
But she can't resist Doc's charm and the crazy chemistry they have. Though clichéd, the erotica is quite satisfying, especially the threesome scene.
The story is too short and packed with sex scenes to get to know or get engaged any of the characters.
There are some eye-rolling moments and dialogues, the plot is weak, but I really want to see Carrie and Mo together again – they are very sweet and hot together.
Well that was a quick scorching hot read. Heavy on sex, light on plot....hang on I think kinky sex was the plot.
There were, what I thought, a few inconsistencies but nothing most people would probably notice.
1. she went to the bathroom with stocking covered feet. Back in her room she removed her pink socks **Where I come from stocking and socks are two very different things.
2. she was on the third floor. It was quicker to go down the short set of stairs to the next floor to use the bathroom. That being the first floor. **Was there no second floor?
Those wee things aside, I nearly gave this four stars as the sex scenes were delightful. At 65% I thought I still had a few more chapters of tasty treats to come and then at 70% the story abruptly ended.
The last 30% of this short story is taken up with pages of dialogue pimping the rest of the authors work. That really pissed me off so I knocked a star off.
I would like to think an author has enough faith in their work, that a reader would want to seek out more by them, rather than have to jam it down their throats at the end of an already short story. RANT OVER.
Fun little novella to introduce you to The Baumgartner family, which is a multi book series about the smutty adventures of that family.
In this book we meet Steve Baumgartner a pre-med student who gets caught pleasuring himself in the shower by Carrie. Carrie & Steve of course start getting freaking and as an added bonus Carrie's best friend Maureen joins in on the fun.
Well, this Baumgartner installment was short and had a very unexpected touch of emotion in it meaning that it wasn't all sex. Ok, so don't get crazy now...it IS a Baumgartner book, so you know there's some hot lovin' , but it tells the story of how Doc and Carrie began their relationship.
I'll be honest, I expected this to be straight up smut with no substance because it is a short one, but I thought it was really great.
The first book I read in this series was The Baumgartner’s BabySitter, which I thought was book #1 and did not really getting into it that much. Wow, I wish I had known this because I may have liked it more if I had read Meet the Baumgartners first.
This story had more than just smut & sex and meeting Doc (I really hate that name!!!) and Carrie for the first time, gave me an insight about who they actually were, which was one of the gripes I had in BabySitter – who are these guys?????
I liked the story of how they met the chemistry between the two and with Maureen – wow talk about hotness between Carrie & Maureen – so totally sizzling, sensual and adventurous…and the three together – explosive!!!! There was an emotional part in this story that again I never felt in BS. There was romance, flirting and of course lots of SEX…. But this is steamy and erotic romance after all!!!!
This was a good book, nothing jaw-dropping or mustrunoutandtellmyfriends about it - just an entertaining read. There was strong chemistry between the h/H, and their was a very believable progression to their relationship. The sex scenes were hot, though I felt like I was reading scenes that I had read before, in other SK books.
Regardless, I always enjoy Selena Kitt's books, and this one was good - though not as hot as some of the others I have read.
In this installment of the Baumgartner's Series, we...can you guess?? Meet the Baumgartners!! So, in this story, Carrie and Doc meet for the first time in College. Doc is a handsome, pre-med college boy and Carrie is a Business major rooming with her best friend and lover, Maureen. Though we don't ever find out why, Carrie has not been with a man in years, so despite the instant fire burning between her and Doc, she resists him...for straight up sex that is. I think she does everything else though...so no worries. ;) But this is good, because how else will they fall in love? So, so far, this is the most tame book in the series. You could almost consider it a basic romance with a lot of sex. But, not quite. Anywho, not my favorite in the series, but still pretty darn good.
Selena Kitt is fast becoming one of my go to authors when I need a quick, well-written, and steamy read that is just the right amount of over-the-top. This story gives you exactly what it tells you. It's filling, it's interesting and bursting with heat, and it definitely pulls you in for a read you won't soon forget.
I really enjoyed this one, and I can't wait to dive into the rest of the series!
A bit of a sexy read that introduces the main characters. This is the story of how they met, and how they began their sexual explorations. Liked the writing style. There was a plot with a nice story. Now I'm curious how these people will continue to explore and enjoy the sexual feast ahead of them.
I loved the characters. The plot was a little thin, but the structure and writing made up for it. I liked and cared about what happened to Carrie. I enjoyed her relationships with Doc and Mo. It was a sassy fun read.
I LOVE SELENA KITT!! As far as I'm concerned she is the queen of writing erotica and can write a sex scene that will make you thrown down your book and go find your husband, partner or anything you might have handy. Her books should come with warning labels that say something like Warning! Reading Selena Kitt books may cause spontaneous masturbation and/or aggressive humping!
Well about this short story... Carrie and Maureen are roommates and lovers. Maureen has a very religious boyfriend who doesn't care for Carrie much. Carrie stumbles into the mens shower room and finds Doc masturbating. HOT! HOT! HAWT!! WHEW! Well, Carrie sticks around for the show and oh boy does she get a show! Later there is an F/F scene and an M/F/F scene. HOLY MENAGE BATMAN!! YUMMM!!!
Overall, I really liked it. All Selena Kitt books that I've read are always well written and this one is not exception. The characters are well developed and for a short story I thought there was depth, feeling and connection. I cant wait to read more Baumgartners!
P.S. This is my instant reaction when anyone mentions Selena Kitt!
Carrie swore off men after a relationship gone bad and is perfectly happy with her roommate and lover Maureen until she discovers Steve (Doc) Baumgartner masterbating in the shower. After 3 years of no partying she found out everyone called her the "Ice Queen" so she decided to go to one party. After a very intense game of strip poker, Carrie is completely naked in front of everyone and she announces that she is not the "Ice Queen" any longer. "Doc" takes her out of there to save her as he sees he chance to get her for the bathroom night and save her from herself and all the guys about to attack her. This was a hot scene that started this book with a bang. How ever I felt that the story was too short and it didn't have enough of a plot to the story. This is my first time reading this series and I will be reading more I gave this story a 3.5 because it was hot.
This was a quick read with 85 pages... Very little plot, it was more like a introduction of how the Baumgartners met in college with very little of a story line, there a whole lotta kink... Overall an ok interesting to a point kind of read....
The thing I dislike was approx. 70% of the entire ebook was this story. The remaining 30% included info about the author's other books ...
Meet The Baumgartners was a quick introduction to the Baumgartners series. This was my first time ever reading Selena Kitt. I’ve heard that she writes a mean sex scene, and boy does she. This was straight up porn, raunchy but well-written. And…I love it! Especially for a freebie. I’ll continue with the other Baumgartner books when I’m in a particularly smutty mood.
When you’ve just read a mind fuck and your brain is fried, nothing better than a dirty little ménage.
In my book funk I searched the great unread on my kindle and remember someone recommending this because it was quick and dirty and free. Free is a magic number.
Quick it was. Dirty it was. Hubs came back from his weekly food shopping trip and I was HELLO can we just lock ourselves in the bathroom for some afternoon delight while the kids play obliviously on their electronic devices.
Great erotic short. It’s all about the sex, so rated it knowing that. Couple of tiny mistakes is the book, you can’t take off your clothing twice ;) But being hot and bothered, it didn’t bother me 😉
I am seeing a pattern in the Baumgartners series, and that's too much sex. I understand that's basically what erotica is, but to me a book should have at least a little more plot than I'm getting from this series. I did think this volume had more story than "Babysitting" did, but it's still a little weak on story. This tells the story of how the Baumgartners originally got together, and I think it was a little overdone. Maybe it's just me, as considering how much sex my own books have I could sound a bit hypocritical, but with a series with so many volumes I was hoping for more story content.
This book was far more romantic and had much greater character development than I had expected. Yes, it certainly delivers the steamy, steamy scenes in delicious detail, but I really enjoyed the introduction to Carrie & Doc as lovable, three dimensional characters- this story gives us so much of their personalities and really lays the foundation for their devoted yet unconventional relationship. Selena Kitt is very talented.
Selena Kitt’s Meet The Baumgartners Kindle Edition was and is available as a free introduction to this to series of many books about this very open marriage. Adult content. Ms Kitt can bring the heat when it is time for erotic passages. To her credit her characters are allowed to have lives outside of the clenches and they experience thoughts and emotions other than the lubricious ones. This being an origins issue, we meet the Baumgartners before they become the Baumgartners. The not yet wife, Carry has not entirely come to own her sexuality. Much of the book is her voyage of discovery. And a mostly merry voyage it is.
Where the author has problems is in transitions. The opening chapter has our happy couple about to introduce a newly of age friend into their secret lives. Suddenly we are back in Carry’s bright college days. Later we leap into a vacation and some people come and go, also abruptly.
Perhaps this kind of read and move on adult entertainment should not come with high literary merit, but the jumps can be disruptive.
3.5 Stars This read as a backstory book (which I guess it is) so it may have been better if read after already knowing these characters. But I haven't, and still enjoyed it. It for sure isn't a complete story, just an introduction of characters, but it's steamy to the max, containing FF. As entertained as I was, I'm not sure if I'm interested in reading the rest of the series.
Selena Kitt is a very talented writer of smut. Wow! I really have a hard time reading so much sex without romance but, hmmm, not when she writes it. This is Book 0 to the Baumgartners series. I will be getting the other books I am sure. This was lent to me via nook lend.
Carrie has sworn off sex with men until she sees 'Doc' in the men's rest room shower stall, late one night. Relieving some tension. Her college years she has spent cuddled up with her room mate, Maureen, and no one knows their sexy secret. Not even her room mates religious boyfriend.
This is a fairly short story and so main thing to know is the sex is HOT! The characters are very likable too. I suppose if you have read the Baumgartners series this is a nice addition.
Orphan college girl's shortcut trip the mens floor bathrooms brings her curiosity out as she hears a moan of pleasure coming from one of the shower stalls. After that night "Doc" wants to know the "Ice Queen" a little more personally. She of course wants her distance but stil is drawn to him.
Now enter a trip to Key West a drunken night and her roomate/lover and you get a very intresting Menage scene.
So you get a f/f scene, a menage, a strip truth/dare frat party scene and hot sex in a story that is not all about sex. Since this was a freebie from Amazon it was well worth the price. It left me wanting more in a very good way. I can't wait to read more about these two and her friend/roomate/lover.
Meet the Baumgartners (the Baumgartners #0) by Selena Kit C+, inferno, mild kink, contemp, m/f, m/f/f, f/f, threesome, 85 pages
I'm not really sure where to even start with this one. Carrie and Maureen are college roommates and lovers and Carrie's perfectly satisfied until she catches Steve "Doc" Baumgartner masterbating in the shower. What follows is a sexfest involving the three of them, but especially Carrie and Doc.
To say that this one was steamy and hot would be the understatement of the year. This is not a book that you read in the living room with the family all around. They'll start asking questions about why you're blushing and sweating. This is a book that requires privacy for reading.
