Journey inside your self-esteem

Some qoutes :

"Look into a baby's eyes and see the joy and delight which can be found there. You were once like this_ enchanted by life, open and trusting, at the centre of your own universe. You felt free to express your emotions, you laughed and cried when you wanted to, you deserved to experience all that life had to offer_ this was your birthright."

"Before you can enjoy yourself, you need to know about yourself. In order to learn about yourself, you need to be selfish"

"I'm asking you to be chiefly concerned with your own interests especially to the exclusion of others. You cannot truly discover your 'self' if you are always putting the interests of others first."

It just so happens that I'm currently reading The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. His theory is that we are genetically programmed to be selfish, because the "predominant quality to be expected in a successful gene is ruthless selfishness."
