This is a story of "lycs" (aka werewolves) and an organization hunting for them in Oxford, England. Werewolf Alfie needs to get a silver collar from this organization to keep him from flipping into his wolf form without a full moon. He's become unstable and this is the only way he can have any kind of normal life. His girlfriend from 11 years previous (she had been present when he was turned and her brother was killed) is now a part of the werewolf hunting group due to her traumatic experience. Together they work to destroy the ancient beast that turned him and killed her brother and get the silver collar working for Alfie.

I know it sounds cheesy, but it was actually a very engaging read. There is a lot of violence and sex. I feel this just adds to the realness of what a werewolf pack would be like. Let's face it, nobody would accuse Jacob from Twilight of being a scary and powerful werewolf. I don't think neutered puppies who never hurt anyone are really what the werewolf genre should be all about. ;)

I thought it was wrapped up nicely at the end, but I do see this is a series. Might check out the next one sometime.

Just an okay read for me. Iris drove me mad...one minute she's f-----g Alfie and the next she's turning on him. This was repeated several times throughout the book and it just turned me off. I have the rest of this series so I'll be reading more about these two, I just hope that Iris isn't so damn fickle.
Now Alfie I liked but at times I thought he was an idiot. I mean how many times does someone get to shit on you before you turn tail and leave?

Erotic, entertaining and fast-paced. Not hugely romantic; h/h don't spend much time together on the page and have sex with lots of other people. Still an interesting, enjoyable story. The hero is a real animal. ;)

Erotic romance. Included groundbreaking techniques like plot development, character development, irony, twists, etc. Sexy, not pornographic. A lovely change of pace. I wish I could get a hold of the other two books in the trilogy for not UK prices.
