In the midst of the vast, windswept Texas plains stood a ranch wrested from the wilderness with blood, sweat and tears. It was the shining legacy of Thomas McBride to his five living heirs. But along with the fertile acres and her of cattle, each would inherit a history of scandal, lies and hidden lust that threatened to burn out of control.
Disowned by his father years before, Tanner had sworn he would never return to the Circle M until the old man was dead. But an unusual clause in Tom McBride's last will and testament brought him home early, to face the scheming stepmother who'd ruined his life, to find the one girl who could tame his heart and reawaken his faith in the healing power of love.
Elaine Barbieri wrote over thirty historical novels that have been published worldwide. She was certain young adult readers would enjoy the excitement of historical romance if given a chance, and she welcomed the opportunity to write Miranda and the Warrior for this new audience. Elaine lived in northern New Jersey with her husband and family, and with Harrison, a demanding male who she is sure would be the ultimate hero -- if he weren't a cat.

A very entertaining read. Plenty of action, twists and turns to keep you interested. The is the first book in the series and as I discovered the other books in the series are each written by a different author, unusual, in my opinion yes. The storyline revolves around a rancher, his second wife, his children and his will. He is dying but for those heirs to inherit they need to return to the ranch. There are supposedly five heirs, three are his children from his first wife. I'm interested to read about the unknown ones or whether one is his second wife which still leaves one unaccounted for.
Difficile de dire ce que j'en pense, il fait partie d'une série multi-auteur et les autre n'ont jamais été publié alors on a pas le fin mot de l'histoire :-(
