This is a nice little book that is easy to flip through to find simple little activities and games to play with your toddler. I can't think of any that required materials other than stuff I already had. Most of the activities are simply songs, word games, and ideas for identifying and grouping objects. All of the games for young toddlers are designed to be only a minute or two. They become more structured for the child's age. I really liked this little book and plan to use many of its ideas.
This book is full of fun and simple games that can be done with children that are 1-3 years of age. Each activity is meant to help simulate the child's brain. There are lots of wonderful ideas that I plan to try with my kids. I also liked the little bits of information about what brain research says that accompanies each activity.
This book is filled with pretty basic, simplistic things parents are supposed to do with kids. Hold the kids tight and twirl them around. Sing nursery rhymes. Pretend to talk like a stuffed animal. There's almost nothing new or creative here, though the book could be good for inexperienced parents who are clueless and have never been around children. There is also a lot of repetition and the use of common songs or nursery rhymes is limited to a select few. The basic point of the book is to do something, anything, with your kids that is outside the norm including moving body parts and talking funny, to develop their brain skills. The illustrations are nice, there is a different concept on each page, and it is well organized into age order, but there's just not enough here to make it worth buying for most.
I liked it! Some of the games are kind of obvious but a lot of them I wouldn't have thought of and Claire has enjoyed a few of them. I checked it out because we are going stir crazy indoors all day in this cold weather! About 1/3 of the games were too advanced for Claire but a lot of them she enjoys, so if you are looking for something to do I'd get it our check it out.
Good ideas for fingerplays and games to play with toddlers. It is designed more for parents working with a child, but some activities would definitely work in a group.
There were a few good ideas in this book, and I liked how it briefly mentioned research done on child development. Ultimately, it was a simple list of basic ideas.
Pensaba que los ejercicios que me iba a encontrar aquí iban a ser algo más enrevesados. Pero no. Además algunos de ellos parece que se patinaban en la edad para la que estaban dirigidos.
