About the author

Moni is a Swedish author, best known for the books about the boy Tsatsiki. Earlier she owned the 17th chair of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books. She is one of the initiators of the young-adult-culture-house Palatset in Stockholm.

6.3.2014 Alltså så himla jävla sorgligt bra!!!! Jag fortsätter älska Monis böcker. Alltså, jag har ALDRIG gråtit så mycket till en bok som till den här. Jag jar gråtit, men inte så här, helt jävla fantastisk.

My favorite book as a teenager, found it in my bookshelf at home and re-read it. Still as good 10 years later.

Well, this book caught my by surprise! I found it by chance as it was laying around in my grandmother's basement where i was sleeping. I recognized the name of the author - she was the one who had written those Tsatsiki-books. I thought i was going to be in for a fairly lame read, but boy was i wrong. I was 14 when i read it, so i was around the same age as the characters. The author really manages to capture what it's like to be a teen in a fairly modern civilisation. There is great sentimentality; you really care for the characters, and you really want the main characters, Rasmus and Malin, to end up together. But you also have the welcome return of characters such as Tsatsiki and Per Hammar. The book is quite humorous as well, much of it coming from the oddball feminist Knutte (whose real name we don't know). Most of the story is told from first person perspective, either Malin or Rasmus. I don't remember exactly but i think there may be other tellers as well. It has a shocking ending. I read this book at least two more times over the years that came. An unexpected favorite. Ah, take me back to those days!

Le livre est extrêmement problématique ! Tromperie, Sexisme, grossophobie, homophobie, pédophile et hyper sexualisation de mineurs sont banalisé dans ce livre. La fin est bouleversante mais sans plus, 200 pages de vide sans but a l'histoire et on tourne en rond! Je pense que je suis juste trop "vieille" pour lire ce livre et qu'il est lisible a 10/11 ans mais en même temps il y a des sujets à ne pas lire a cette âge là, je suis mitigée mais honnêtement j'ai été déçu et je recommande pas. (Aucune haine envers l'auteure et je respecte son travail voici simplement mon avis <3)
