Moni is a Swedish author, best known for the books about the boy Tsatsiki. Earlier she owned the 17th chair of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books. She is one of the initiators of the young-adult-culture-house Palatset in Stockholm.
I think this book introduced me to the concept of puberty... or rather, the things that concern teenagers, such as alcohol and sex and periods. I hadn't hit puberty yet when I read it for the first time, but I was starting to become interested in those things and was fascinated by everything that happened in this book -- every POV chapter was a journey in itself. I still remember it fondly and wish my sister hadn't thrown it away all those years ago so I could read it again.
It's okay, but the sequel (Malin + Rasmus = Sant) is miles better. On the other hand, I assume one should not expect anything else since the characters are older in the successor.
