This 2006 revised reprint of the best selling guidebook to the Munros contains a completely new set of maps, which as well as showing the Munros and Munro Tops will also show all of the neighbouring Corbetts, Corbett Tops, Grahams and Graham Tops. In addition to extensive text amendments, the images throughout the book are enhanced and there are a number of new images, including the cover. This is the definitive hillwalkers' guidebook to the Munros, compiled by the Scottish Mountaineering Trust on behalf of the Scottish Mountaineering Club.
This isn't a stuff it in your pocket and use it on the hill type of guide. Rather, it is a sit at home and use it for reference and inspiration book. The information is concise and clear, as are the sketch maps of routes. The photos are the best part, though, showing the Highlands and Islands in all seasons and all their glory.
Tremendous. Read slowly over the last couple of weeks ahead of a lenghty trip up to the Highlands. Needless to say, this will be coming with me. As well as the other Scottish Mountaineering Club books, The Corbetts And Other Scottish Hills and The Grahams & The Donalds. They make a superb addition to the bookcase, and are beautifully designed books.
A Revised and Reprinted version of this book has come out in 2013. It updates & supersedes all previous editions and is well worth having in your possession if you're a Munro-basher.
