Leon Salzman, M.D. was the first major contributor to literature on obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and his work has stood the test of time thus far, remaining relevant today. He also helped develop the legal definition of insanity.
He was a professor of clinical psychiatry at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, the president of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis, a clinical professor of psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a professor of psychiatry at Tulane University Medical School.
