Terrified, desperate, and left with no other choice.
Social worker, Grace, knew all too well the terrors the kids she worked with faced every day. She knew because she had lived them.
When a new file landed on her desk, memories she thought she left behind resurface. She is forced to not only face her past, but to return to the town she ran from all those years ago.
Only to find that he’s still there.
With the past haunting them, and the future uncertain, would they learn to trust again and find love and happiness? Or will the memories of the past be too much to overcome?

I enjoyed reading this sweet story, of second chance love. The characters are heart grabbers, you won't want to stop reading once you start. Grace returns to her home town and Colin the sheriff hasn't forgotten about her. It was such a lovely story.
Everly, you have done it again!! I love this storyline and the way you interacted Grace's past and present. The help she had as a child shaped her into the person she became, and as a social worker now as an adult, she will gain Rachael's trust and do all she can to give her the forever family she is looking for. Not knowing it would bring her back to the town she left behind, and the friends she had in the foster home. Colin has always loved Grace and he will make sure she knows it. Rachael feels safe with Grace and they have shown her what a family is supposed to look like. Read was very emotional and I enjoyed that it touched base on the foster system, which is rarely discussed in a contemporary romance. After reading dark and paranormal romance, this book was a breath of fresh air. Colin and Grace are life goals!!
Such a beautiful story of second chance romance. Everly you did an excellent job of weaving Grace and Colin’s past with their future and how with the help from the right people your life can and will get better.
Social Worker Grace’s past comes back in the form of a runaway teen. Seeing herself in Rachael she decides to become her caseworker in hopes of steering Rachael on a better path. However while helping her she finds she has to return to her hometown and reunites with old friends - Colin and Pudge.
Sparks fly between Colin and Grace and Colin is determined to not let Grace go this time.
I loved this book wholeheartedly. It was full of love, friendship, humor and suspense. I especially loved the message in Returning to Victory that with the right support and finding those you can trust your past doesn’t define who you can become.
Social Worker - Grace's (FMC) past comes back into her life with the arrival of a troubled teen - Rachael bringing with her a glimpse of herself in her. As well as all of the difficulties that Rachael has to cope with it strikes a cord with Grace & she takes her under her wing. Things with Rachael end up with her being in Grace's hometown after running away and being helped by two guys that Grace grew up with - Colin & Pudge. Only for sparks to fly between Colin and Grace. A book with a mixture of small town sweet romance and a darker story running along side with it. I kinda liked that myself. The characters tugged at my heartstrings especially with Grace and Rachael's relationship. A thoroughly enjoyable read with characters i just loved. A cracking read
3.75 stars, rounded up! This was a sweet story overall that to me glowed about found family. There were bits I wanted more of (like Colin and Grace's past with each other) to really feel their connection come through and then there were parts I absolutely adored - Grace's love and protectiveness over Rachael and her unwavering support of her from the day she first met her. Brilliant job on showing their bond grow through the story! This was my first contemporary romance read of Everly's and a wonderful stepping stone into that side of her writing. Thank you for touching so well on a topic that I rarely see anyone else go into!
Everly Taylor does it again! This was a cute contemporary romance with a little bit of chaos thrown in. The suspense was well written and really keeps you hooked.
A small town social worker named Grace gets called in on a case that sounds all too familiar. Meeting Rachael is like a look into her past, and when her 'little delinquent' runs away to the town where Grace grew up, Grace gets a second chance she never thought possible.
Colin and Grace were fun characters to read about. Their chemistry was evident in the story. My favorite relationship, though, was Rachael and Grace's. They both grew so much throughout the storyline. It was amazing to see their found family come together.
This is my first time reading this author and it was amzing I can’t wait to read more from her and I couldn’t put it down . This sounds like the struggles I had when I was in the foster system and reading something that I can relate it gets to me ans she did an amazing job
I loved this story. I loved how the Evelyn used a real life problem and made it into a wonderful love story. but to have in a untraditional way by having the characters fall in love with each and become family wow it’s different.
Everly Taylor has done it again guys. This book sucked me in and would not let go. Grace is such a kick butt social worker looking out for Rachel (a replica of her at that age) and Rachel being an amazing foster kid who just needed someone to care. This was a cute contemporary romance with a little chaos mixed in and I think after all the crazy paranormal and dark romance I have read recently this was a great palette cleanser! Probably one of my favorites from Everly!
Oh my gosh!! When I say this book brought to life a whole world and made me feel a little of every emotion I'm definitely not joking, it was amazing. Grace and Colin's love story is full of angst and so much love for the other. This book is definitely a slow burn but worth the wait! Rachael is so tough and smart I loved every part of her! I would absolutely recommend this if you love second chance small town romances!!
I'm not normally a MF romance reader, I tend more to reverse harem. I also don't read much contemporary of any genre, preferring paranormal, urban and science fantasy. But I am a huge fan of Ms. Taylor, and when I saw she had a new release, I knew I had to read it. She did not let me down. I was enthralled with Grace's story from the first page. It was sweet, suspenseful, and filled with characters I adored. I can't recommend it highly enough. Sweet, small-town second-chance romance with all of the feels, just lovely.
This is absolutely a heart wrenching feel good story. Grace is such a loving and giving FMC, I’m so glad that life finds a way to have her drawn back to Victory. Colin is a handsome Sheriff who never forgot about Grace, who he knew growing up. I loved his relationship with Pudge and I’d honestly love a story for both Pudge and Rachael. Rachael and Grace needed each other in a way totally different from Grace and Colin, but no less potent. Wonderful story with lots of feels!
Idk what it was but this book had me soo emotional. It does have a hea, drama and second chance.
This book will pull you in from the beginning and keep you entertained. This was my first book By everly and won’t be my last.
Can you stop tearing my heart out.❤️❤️
I absolutely loved Grace and Colin What happens when Collin is Letter her go this time. ❤️ Can they put their past behind them and create an amazing future together?
How do I describe this book? It was good and I rate it 3.5 stars but the storyline of the book was rather frustrating. At times I couldn’t care less about the romance as I was more interested in the plot. Then there were times where I was itching for the story to come to it’s head.
The saving grace for me were Pudge and Rachael. They were the backbone for this book.
I liked this story. I loved how the author used a real life problem and made it into a wonderful love story among many of the characters. Most of the love story was in a untraditional way by having the characters fall in love with each and become family. The romance part is a slow burn but gave it the best ending.
Grace is a social worker with a past of her own. When she gets a case that reminds her of just that she must return to her home town. She discover her old love is still there and the fight to trust is strong. This book will keep you reading.
This was such a cute story. I read a lot of dark romance, so I considered this a type of palette cleanser. *Second chance *Childhood friends *Friends to lovers *Kick butt social worker *Handsome cop Loved the dynamic between all the characters.
This is probably one of my favorite books from Everly, I love Everlys writing style and world building, the main characters are definitely heart grabbers, and I couldn’t stop reading I needed to know what would happen next.
So good! This was a very sweet contemporary romance, small town lovers with just the right amount of chaos to keep you hooked. I loved this book so much.
I’ve read quite a few Everly Taylor book and this one is top tier. I loved the second chance romance and the story was great. I found myself so sucked in to the suspense of the story and I loved it!!
This is my second read by Everly and yet again she had me hooked.
This is a cute small-town romance that has just the right amount of chaos to keep you turning pages.
Grace is a social worker who gets the case of a girl names Rachel. She reminds her of herself and her past at that age. With that she decides to head home, only to find that her 1st love is still in town.
This book was a really great read, and I can't wait to get into Everly's back list and see what else she has in store as upcoming releases come out!
5/5 For the story 1/5 For the Spice
As always please do your due diligence and mind your triggers and check the TW there are a few here! I encourage before reading.
Brilliant read. Grace has started life on the wrong foot, but she is starting to get her bearings when she is knocked off balance by her present colliding with her Past. She ends up returning home and the friends she once had are still there, seemingly waiting on her return. Grace has to determine what she needs out of the life she has made herself and make her intention clear. Brilliant read.
