I have (and love) crystals, and wanted to read up on the thinking behind it, even though I was pretty certain I wouldn’t think all of it is true.
It’s a well-organized book and very thorough (hence the three stars.) but I did expect to be more convinced than I was by the end. I was surprised at how, uh, unpersuasive it was?
Or maybe I’m taking two stars off because “within two weeks of holding fluorite before and during meals, your eating will return to normal” was for ANOREXIA.
I have a few books on crystals but this is up there with my favourites. Clear and concise, ideal for beginners as well as a quick go to guide for the more experienced in crystal therapy. Love that it has a section on crystal elixirs which many of my books have not. The ailments A-Z is perfect to dip into for quick reference and crystal advise. Brilliant book.
An excellently laid out and remarkably comprehensive understanding of Crystals & the myriad ways in which they can help us on our Journey! Philip does an extensive & cogent task of sharing the wisdom of Crystals and then methodically listing their uses for not only physical but emotional and spiritual symptoms as well as preventive usage. If you're fascinated by Crystals and desire to learn more this is an invaluable resource.
A book recommended in crystal healer course, laid out in straight forward easy to understand manner. Enjoyed the descriptions of each crystal included, astrological and chakra associations, the prescriptions for physical, spiritual and emotional ailments and/or life situations. Very easy to use hands on guide to give you access to using these “stone people” effectively
Absolutely loved this book! Very informative. It seems like they have a crystal for every ailment!
This is the perfect book for someone who is a beginner or someone who just wants to learn more about healing with crystals. 5 stars!!! I went through and highlighted alot of important things , so they are easier to go back to. Will be using this book often.
I love this book! I use it a lot. It has crystal elixirs, crystal care, an index in the back for different ailments. The pictures and descriptions are nice too. This is a must have for any crystal enthusiast! Not a science book - book for Energy Healers.
Thorough descriptions of the crystals and also a very genuine and easy to follow introduction to crystal healing and other crystal work. Great for beginners but also for trained energy workers, who needs to look up a crystal, they have not worked with before.
Whilst this is a well produced interesting book and I have a fascination with crystal and rocks I struggled with the physical healing section. I have always believed in the power of crystals in emotional wellbeing but I just can't get my head around the physical side.
Super practical guide for using crystals for everything! Helpful photos and colour guide, getting started, meditation and healing techniques. I like this one, very interesting and helpful.
I have many, many books on crystals. Some of them are simply books on the different types of crystals and their healing properties, that only brush on different ways to use them. Others, however, like The Crystal Healer by Philip Permutt go into extensive detail on how to use those crystals to heal different ailments. Many people say that crystals emit vibrations that can affect the human body in positive ways. However, something that I admired greatly is that The Crystal Healer admits that science has not proven the assertions many people make. That being said, it’s my belief that crystals can have healing properties and so, too, does the author.
How the book is set up The first section prepares you for crystal work. The next section guides you through using them. Then, partway through the book the different types of crystals are presented with their healing properties. The different crystals are organized by color, starting with Quartz because of how easy it is to obtain and how many different uses it has. I was thrilled at how “The Crystal Finder” was organized because it helped me identify the many crystals that I have. Other crystals books simply organize the different rocks by their most commonly known names, which makes it incredibly difficult to find the crystal I’m looking for.
There isn’t just one way to work with crystals The Crystal Healer provides a blueprint for different ways of working with the crystals. One I was very excited to come across was working with the crystals and your Chakras. It’s something I have yet to do, because Ive been waiting to use them with another person. The book, however, said that instead of placing the crystals on your body, it’s possible to put the crystals around your body and experience the same healing vibrations as if they were laying on your body.
All the crystal books I’ve read so far touch on the idea of making crystal elixir. While I haven’t had a strong inclination to do so, I’m considering making them for myself. I was glad to see that Philip Permutt gives you less invasive ways to make the crystal-charged water. For instance, he says that instead of placing the crystal directly into the water you intend to charge with your crystal, you can put it in a container holding the crystal inside of the water which you will be drinking.
It kept going! I was pleased to find that The Crystal Healer didn’t end with the Crystal finder. Rather, it ended with a chapter providing more crystal remedies for the reader to try. Philip Permutt suggests crystals for various ailments of both the body and the mind, and offers different ways to work with the crystals. For instance, if you’re trying to combat the mental and emotional symptoms associated with aging, you could place rose quartz crystals into a normal bath.
Who would this book suit? The Crystal Healer is a book that goes more in depth than simply naming the crystals and their various uses. Philip Permutt’s book on crystals gives you instructions on how to use the crystals and helps you build a connection with them. This is an excellent book for a beginner and a step-by-step guide on different ways to work with your crystals. Although this is not the first book I’ve read on crystals, and I feel rather confident that I know how to use them, I will be referring back to The Crystal Healer throughout my life.
I originally wasn’t going to rate this because it’s 75% a glossary about rocks, but the way it was presented was exactly what I needed when I read it, so I want to give it the credit that is due. It was inclusive, didn’t call out any one specific religion, didn’t really tie to any religion at all (which is how it should be done with freaking crystals, of all things, jfc, how are we making sparkly rocks Christian), and was really comprehensive. There’s another volume that I’m excited to breeze through, as well, and while this volume didn’t exactly provide any new insights for me, someone who’s been working with crystals for years now, I think it would definitely be helpful for new practitioners.
Unlike other books about crystals, this one includes some much needed real-life warnings and takes a more rational approach for those of us left-brained folks. I enjoyed the concise but very informative chapters and love that the author’s voice is relaxed and helpful rather than demanding or whimsical.
He organizes the novel into a few short chapters on crystal basics, but happens to write some things that I hadn’t read anywhere else before, which makes it a worthwhile read/buy. Then he goes into what meanings he considers the stones to have, and in a very pretty and organized way he compartmentalizes them by color. There are plenty of pictures for identifying aid.
I would recommend this to any fan of crystals, and especially to “beginners” or half-skeptics.
This is my all time favorite crystal book any ailment there's a remedy stone to hold wear etc~ great pics and extremely informative a must have for all wanting to learn on crystals or learn how crystal can help you in everyday life~ easy to comprehend and incorporate into your everyday life in a jiffy!!! 5 stars
It is a good book IF you are already knowledgeable about gemstones, however, there are some things in this book I have discovered are not trustworthy, NEVER USE aragonite in the bath, it is a toxic stone and it will dissolve, this book states that you can use this in the bath for skin conditions, NOT SAFE. I learned the hard way today.
The book is very organized and holds a lot of information as far as healing properties, where its found, and description. I've identified at least three of my unidentifiable crystals with this book, so very helpful. I wish there were more this book could offer, but it can only scrape the surface. Overall it's a useful resource book.
Best book of crystals for someone with no experience about the subject. It describes what a crystal is, what are the uses and all sickness (physical, emotional, spiritual) that they could help. It is like your little prescription book to heal. I really love it. Highly suggested to be read.
