Just a Summer Fling
Broken-hearted, self-esteem shattered, and dragged on vacation by his parents, Ryan doesn’t think he could be more miserable. All that changes when he meets Chris, the most gorgeous surfer he’s ever seen. Shocked when Chris takes an interest in him, Ryan decides that maybe a summer fling is just what he needs to get over his ex. But Chris has a secret, and Ryan, still hurting from his failed relationship, isn’t at all prepared to deal with it. 18 year old Ryan has been forced by his parents to go on vacation with them to San Diego. He’s depressed as he just broke up with his cheating boyfriend. He meets sexy surfer Chris on the beach and his friend tells him it’s his chance to have a summer fling and get over his ex. He’ll never see Chris again. They spend the day surfing and Chris invites him over for dinner. He kind of let slip that he only wants a fling before heading back to NYU to start school. Things are going well, but Chris says he can’t be with Ryan if it’s only a fling, he knows he’ll want more and there’s a little tidbit of info he didn’t reveal. This was a cute story about two young guys still testing the dating waters, unsure of what they want or each other. There’s no smexin’, just some kissing but I quite enjoyed the story as Ryan gets past his battered self-esteem.

Very cute story about Ryan, who was dumped by his high school boyfriend and is now very unsure of himself. He wants to be a writer and is going to attend NYU in the fall, but his parents drag him to a two-week beach vacation in San Diego first. When he meets Chris, a surfer boy, he is amazed the guy is interested in him, but thinks a summer fling will be just the thing to get over his heartache and depression.
Only, it doesn't quite work that way...
If you like sweet stories about young men just finding their way, if you enjoy reading about first love, and if you don't mind a bit of an unexpected twist, you will probably like this short story as much as I did.

Short, very sweet story of Ryan, who was used and discarded by his first boyfriend. He is in San Diego on vacation, and meets a beautiful surfer, Chris. He feels safe enough to have a summer fling, never having to see his surfer again, but Chris has something he isn't telling. The story is almost YA, calm and sweet.

This is a cute short story about two boys who meet during one's summer vacation and finds they're attracted to one another. I think the fact that one of them are actually going to the same school as the other is too coincidental; still, it's one of the short stories that makes you smile and wish for the best for the boys involved

A sweet short story. Involves Chris and Ryan. Ryan is on vacation and meets Chris. Perhaps people meet each other for a reason. :-)

Such a sweet short story - great lunch time read! (free too!) I will definitely be reading more from this author.
