This book is NOT for wimps! In the tradition of "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" by Alvin Schwartz, THEY'RE COMING FOR SCARY STORIES THAT SCREAM TO BE READ is a chilling collection of more than two dozen scary stories that will leave you screaming for more... or just screaming! This macabre mix of howls, humor, and horror is a must-have for anybody who loves to be scared.Includes creepy illustrations and three bone-rattling bonus stories from "They're Coming For You 2: More Scary Stories that Scream to be Read" plus sample chapters from "Kissed by a Clown."You'll soon see why Jan Boemann says, "I have seen the face of horror, and its name is O. Penn-Coughin."Listen to O. Penn-Coughin read his stories on THE SCARY STORY PODCAST on iTunes.
Totally had to get this book on my way out of the library just because of the cover. It literally was screaming for me to take it home and read it. I did. These were some interesting scary stories. I have heard some similar to these and it was a refresher for me. I really liked the one where the kids had the field trip to the cemetery. Who the heck gets a field trip to the cemetery?! I didn't. I would have done alot better in school if we could have had field trips like that. But anyways... cute read for YA's.
Some of the best scary stories I've read in a long time. Original and smart, O. Penn-Coughin has created a delicious collection of bone-chilling stories that are so good -- it's scary. Some of my favorites were Yo Momma's Right Here, El Cuco, and Problem Number 13. My favorite part about the book is that the stories are original, and not just some rehashed folk tales like other scary story books where the authors can't be bothered to even come-up with their own ideas. O. Penn-Coughin's writing is smart and suspenseful, and this book left me screaming for more! Highly recommended for a fun night of frights!
This collection of scary stories is the perfect blend of new and classic horror. Some stories are truly terrifying, while others are just truly hilarious. A really rare gem of a book, these stories are great to read out loud. Plus, the pictures in the book are pretty cool too. Love this collection, and all the other sequels by this author. Such a great book. Perfect for kids, teenagers, and fun-loving adults too.
I didnt like the book so mush it wasent even scary and the author kept saying "now get ready for a scare" it was so boring I didnt even get what was happening but the pictures were very realistic
