Follow the story of Pastor Michael Catt and his congregation as the Lord changes a sleepy Southern Baptist Church into a ministry center that reaches thousands through a variety of out reach programs, and has even challenged the Hollywood establishment with a locally produced, nationally syndicated movie, Facing the Giants.
Michael Catt was an American film producer, author, and senior pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church located in Albany, Georgia from 1989 until his retirement in 2021. He was an executive producer for the 2008 film, Fireproof.
This was a great testimomy of God's faithfulness to a church that prays in the Spirit. A modern day miracle and revival. A model of what a church in this dispensation should be like. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars os because all the name dropping wore me out, but I understand why he included people by name. Just made it a little harder to read.
Pastor Catt's inspiring book tells the story of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia and how God has used them mightily to take the gospel around the world, especially through film.
I’ve seen the movie Facing the Giants many times, but reading this book puts in to perspective just how God was preparing and equipping the church for something beyond themselves and for Kingdom impact!
Beautiful story of the power of true prayer and faith when the people of God come together with a united vision. I was challenged and inspired to lead my church on a whole new level. This book provided a much needed spark to my prayer life. I highly recommend it.
I just moved to New England. This part of the country is one of the least churched parts of our nation. Reading this book has encouraged me to pray and seek revival in this region.
Great book. Encouraging to see what God can do when a church listens to God's voice, lives by the Bible, and isn't concerned about staying inside of a religious box.
