The Phosphenic Deer Cave

Rate this book
Art, Mythology and Religion of the Painters Porto Badisco In this book Leone delves into the meaning of the complex paintings of the Deer Cave, a prehistoric site located in Apulia, in the South of Italy. For many years, the interpretation of the cave has been groping for the paintings have been regarded as sacred expressions in a sort of sanctuary, nothing more. True, the cave has much of the ornate sanctuaries situated in France and the passage size, the stair articulation, the art abundance, the location plan with several entries. Moreover, the cave is in an area full of paleolithic caverns with art, of which it seems to have inherited some common features. There is some reason to believe that a pre-existing unexplored temple might be hidden somewhere in the surroundings or underwater where nobody has tried to find.
