As the daughter of a famous astrophysicist, Gillian grew up understanding a lot about astronomy. But it wasn't until the summer she turned sixteen that she fell in love with the stars. That was also the year she fell for Max Bishop, a student of her father's who broke her heart by transferring away from Princeton, and out of her life.
Shari MacDonald is the author of numerous Christian novels, coauthor of such titles as "The Creative Memories Way", and compiler of several humor compilations, including "Humor for a Mom’s Heart". She and her husband, live in Portland, Oregon with their twin sons.
Going back and forth from the past to the present, this book chronicles the romance of Gillian Spencer and Max Bishop. Gillian is a graduate student in astrophysics and Max is her adviser on a project. They had met 16 years earlier when he was a graduate student of her father's, and she a teenager. Not only does it story their romance, it also stories her lack of relationship with God and how she becomes a Christian. I think the author did really well developing the characters, just focusing on two people, though mainly Gillian, rather than trying to incorporate some type of mystery or go too in depth with many characters.

This was a fun story because it skipped from journal entries from when the woman was 16 to the present. I always love a story that brings in people from the past. This book also resolved past issues to lead to a happy future. A good read.
