Not quite hard-boiled, private detective Carney Wilde is hired to discover who is stealing from a store as well as find some missing information. The two worlds mesh into a compressed world of intrigue, murder and betrayal. We're kept pretty close to the story and at the end it comes to a quick, bang and reveal. Some really nice writing, I would describe it as crisp with a sense of humor that winks at you every now and then.

This detective is part of a series, this is book 4 of the series.
