These Honeybun stories just keep getting hotter! I loved the paranormal aspect to this story and how in stride the Honeybun hunks handled these elements. With every new book in this series I love them more and more. Sam Cheever has once again outdid herself with this one. Edric is a phenomenal hero and his calm analytical personality shines in this situation. He is the perfect counterpart for the unconventional Bella. Our latest honey is a treat, with her special gifts and true heart she is a wonderful addition to the clan. They experience an instant attraction and I enjoyed watching them deal with the growing affection they were developing amidst a dangerously deadly situation. The story itself has a little bit of everything; mystery and intrigue, action and adventure, sexual chemistry and sweet romance, not to mention a kick-butt spooky location. The Honeybun men have a reserved spot in my heart. This is a fast and fun read complete with a Halloween mystery and a bunch of sexy red-headed men who won't let ghosts get the better of them. These Honeybun brothers are more than eye candy and I for one cannot get enough of them. Once again Sam Cheever's witty tone and quirky characters give reader's a quick and lively caper. This is one that I will read and enjoy over and over again.
I was a little taken aback by the abrupt shift this book took away from the other Honeybun books I’ve recently read and reviewed here. While the first three books were contemporary suspense romances, this one fell easily into the category of paranormal romance. The author acknowledges this shift at the beginning of the book as something different for this particular book. It’s an interesting change, although I did find it kind of disappointing.
Oh, all the elements that worked in the first three books are still present in this one. The great Honeybun family is still running around making the words dance off the page. The heat between Bella and Edric sizzles. But, I had a hard time making a shift in my own head from what I expected to what I actually received.
Sam Cheever is not the first author to do this. I’ve read several historical series where the author suddenly throws in a paranormal book by making one of the heroines or heroes ‘different’ and then the hero or heroine have to come to terms with whether they can live with ‘differences.’ But, like before, I found it hard to handle in terms of the rest of the series. Where does the story go from here? Will the future Honeybun books have these elements to them? I don’t know. I trust that Ms. Cheever is an excellent writer and I’m looking forward to reading more of the Honeybun men to see where they go from here.
I recommend this book to anyone who is as much a fan of the Honeybun series as I am.
There's always plenty of fun, excitement and mischief when those Honeybun boys get together! I'm sure hoping that is a 5th book in this series. Sam Cheever is a wonderful writer of suspense with a bit of good clean romance, and a lot of fun. Her books are well written and well edited.
Although i wasn't caring for this book, i kept at it and found myself becoming immersed in the story. Although i like the previous books in the series better, it will be interesting to see where the character of Bella evolves from here. I was confused on some of the genealogy segments, but decided it didn't matter, to me at least. Give it a go if you like strange Halloween stories.
I love the honeybuns. I wish I could have meet some people like them in real life. But I am not really into the story line with witch's and stuff just not that interesting to me so it took me a little longer to read
I am following the Honeybun series and I absolutely loved this book. Once again Sam Cheever (this author writes such wonderful stories) has written a winner. This is an amazing story that will draw me in from the first page and I was totally captivated until the end of the story, there is a touch of paranormal events, drama, intrigue, romance and comedy. What I really love about this series, is that the Honeybun brothers stick together and help, this time it is Edric's turn, and he falls for Bella (who is different) and something wants to destroy the family line. I would most definitely recommend this book to people that like to read a exceptionally good, well written mystery/suspense romance with just a touch of paranormal in it.
A Honeybun in Hell is probably my favorite of the Honeybun's I've read!
Edric is the writer of the family. He considers himself open-minded and even has booked a weekend trip for him and his family in Hell Indiana for Halloween weekend. But when this latest Honeybun finds his honey, how is he suppose to protect her when the newest evil can't be hurt with fists or bullets?
Bella Rawnie has embraced being different. In a place like Hell the locals are use to weird occurrences and don't look twice at Bella and her weird nature. When a dark evil is out to kill her to destroy the Rawnie family line she'll have to depend upon her gift and hopefully the open-minds of the Honeybuns to help her.
Edric and Bella are super sweet. Edric opens up his mind to possibilities he had never considered after meeting Bella. Once again the Honeybun clan joins together to solve a mystery and save one of their own. Suspense, romance, comedy, and a hint of paranormal thrown in. Awesome family dynamics and great characters!
This was another great installment of the Honeybun boys. I do have a couple of issues with this book. First, it's getting confusing remembering which Honeybun honey belongs to who. Second, the main characters in the plot.....their family tree was kind of hard to keep track of in my head. It actually gave me a headache trying to figure out who was who's kid and grandson and wife and....oy!
