MY REVIEW
A very good historical love story with ups and downs, I was near tears at the beginning even. I love Colleen's books and have already started on the second book in this series, "Plains of Promise". When I look at one website it looks like there four books in this series, but on another they were listed as separate novels in 1997, 1999, and 2000. So I guess you can decide if you want to read them in order or not. You will enjoy them either way I think!

Pretty good book

This book was an interesting, entertaining, and very easy read. It flowed along really well without being too deep in detail.

Great read

Good read about the western territory and how the Indian population was taken advantage of in early times by those that settled the western lands. Stories of the brave families that decided to change their lives and head to the new land leave family and friends behind. Wonderful writing the way the characters are entwined in the historical facts of the western history. So enjoy this writer and her story lines.

Good

This was another awesome book about this author which had me glued to the book from beginning to end..My only main complaint is I wish the book had a better closure but since it appears to be more in the series of some additional characters that were mentioned I may be okay!lol

A boyfriend (Rand) is supposed to be dead; a supposed new beau (Ben) is not what she thinks, and Sarah is supposed to marry Ben tomorrow when Rand returns home. He is so mad that he leaves town to his post in Wyoming. Sarah is heartbroken and must now decide what to do. The mix-up between Rand, Ben, and Sarah is not finished.

So this is confusing - I read book 1 of a series and this was the next book she published so I went with this and will return to the other series after this - and yet this is the same story as the other book but in more detail? Is this the whole other series in one? And yeet this is also the first book of a series.
Flipping weird man just weird

This is the first book in the Wyoming series, which is also my first Colleen Coble book I have read. I felt like this book had a very slow start and I was not sure I was going to enjoy this book at first, however it started to pick up and get more interesting. My Favourite part of this book was when Sarah eventually married Rand.

Easy read. This book has a lot of action as well as a pretty good story. Somewhat predictable, but it kept me interested. I liked the fact that the Indians were portrayed as human and kind at times. Sweet story of a woman in grief who finds her love again, but she is engaged to another.

This is the second time I've read this. I remember being really annoyed at the love interest. Same this time.

Wild West

I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and took my mind off the Coronavirus at least for awhile. A nice clean book of romance and adventure.

When the Civil War was over Sarah Montgomery's heart didn't return home, that is the love of her life Rand Campbell was presumed dead, after all that's the word that she and his family got from the government. While she knew she could never love anyone else to appease her family she agrees to marry Ben Croftner, thing is Ben was with holding information, and as they say your lies will eventually find you out and that's what happens when Rand returns home just a few days prior to Ben and Sarah's wedding. You would think that would be the ending of the story but no Rand goes west and when he asks Sarah to go along she can't because of her dying father. Will true love ever prevail between Rand and Sarah, and what about Ben, he has vowed that no one will have Sarah but him, will he follow through with his threats?
I am going to admit it I am not good at waiting for serial books so I had to read this book after reading the ninety page serial book A Heart's Disguise, the first book in the Journey of the Heart series. I just had to know how things would work out for Rand and Amanda I must say that I wasn't disappointed. I loved the faith, friendships and characters that I found within the pages of this book. Colleen Coble is a wonderfully talented author who knows how to draw me into the lives of her characters evoking emotional upheavals as the story progresses. There were instances of suspense as I wondered if Rand and Sarah would ever have their happily ever after! I enjoyed reading about life at the fort, and how the Indians were often treated. I will say A Heart's Disguise seems more polished somehow, but if your like me and can't wait for the next installment well then pick up Where Leads The Heart. I for one plan on reading the entire series because it's just the sort of stories that I enjoy. Historical, faith based fiction set right after the civil war. I am not sure how I missed this series in 2012 but I am so glad that I am lucky enough to read them now!

Faith

What a heart-filled story of never giving up on love. To travel the timeline of endurance and coming out with their prize. To rally thru hardships not give up and fight her way through like her papa told her.

Ok this was a bit confusing at first... this is part of the book Wyoming. She republished each story in Wyoming as a serial book series - Each small book is more developed. So I abandoned Wyoming after the first story.
