Examines the phenomenon of sports in Philadelphia, discussing the teams, players, fans, coaches, heartbreaks, and success and reveals the integral role of sports in the culture of the city
Interesting old book (written in 1981) because it talked about some of the horrible Philly sports teams from the 1950s through the 1970s, as the city was entering a golden age of professional sports, with the Flyers, Sixers, Phillies, and Eagles all in (or even winning) championships. I appreciated some of the old stories that I hadn't heard before, since they were mostly before my time.
