many thoughts. v interesting to read because I’m currently in round valley - and just was at an event celebrating this victory a few weeks ago. wish it was more focused on the collaboration between the people in the valley and on the valley itself than Richard and people in power in Southern California. Disappointed in the way the indigenous resistance to the dam was brushed over.

A riveting account of the fight to save Round Valley from being flooded by a dam. I thought this was really well written - lots of facts, but tied together very well so it kept me reading like it was a novel. Brought in many aspects of the history of the west and California and put the whole issue in a much larger perspective.
