Devotions designed to help mothers and daughters grow closer to God and each other Moms, do you want to connect with your daughter and God at the same time? Girls, do you ever wonder if your mom knows what it’s like to be in your shoes? This devotional is uniquely designed to help mothers and daughters grow closer to each other while they grow closer to God.
Written by best-selling tween and teen author Dannah Gresh with Janet Mylin, each devotion includes a Bible passage and an activity or discussion question to help moms and daughters apply the lesson to their lives.
Topics for the devotions are centered around issues that best-selling author Dannah Gresh is known for addressing through her books and mother-daughter conferences. Topics include modesty, purity, self-esteem, handling emotions, witnessing, living the faith, and more.
Throughout this book, there are also tips for meditating on God’s Word, easy-to-swallow theology lessons, some craft activities, and even a few recipes to serve as reminders of Scripture.
After 365 days, mother and daughter are sure to see a difference in their relationship with God and each other.
Dannah Gresh, a mother/daughter communication coach, has sold well over three quarters of a million copies of her books—including And the Bride Wore White and 2008's best-selling CBA youth book, Lies Young Women Believe (coauthored with Nancy Leigh DeMoss)—making her one of the most successful Christian authors targeting teens and preteens. With the belief that today's culture has been seeking to rob little girls of their innocence, Dannah has been fighting on the front lines to protect them. Her fun line of Secret Keeper Girl mom/preteen daughter connecting resources and live events that tour the country provide moms with just the right tools to fight back. She has long been at the forefront of the movement to encourage both tweens and teens to pursue purity and is often called upon to defend the conservative position of abstinence in national news media like USA Today, Time, Chicago Tribune, and Women's Wear Daily. She is also a frequent contributor to FamilyLife Today, Midday Connection, and Focus on the Family. Dannah lives in State College, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Bob, and their children, Robby, Lexi, and Autumn, whom the family adopted from China in 2007. She and her husband founded Grace Prep, a new model in Christian high school education, which Bob administrates. She is shamelessly in love with her labradoodle, Stormie. (DannahGresh.com)
This daily devotional book was so incredible to do with my pre-teen daughter! Many nights, as we read together, the content was totally relevant to what she had experienced that very day. The Girl Gab section was often my favorite, as we’d look up various videos prompted by the author and always ended up discussing things further. Couldn’t recommend this enough!
My 12-year-old daughter and I are reading this devotional together at breakfast. We enjoy the engaging stories, and sometimes even look up the topics online. This is a perfect book for tween girls - just the right length for mealtime devotions, and just the right material for her interests. We'll be using this all school year.
I have enjoyed this devotional. It has helped me to grow closer to God. This touches on many topics such as how God talks to you, spiritual growth, salvation, etc... This book has helped me realize how amazing God really is. It has helped me realize that God will always be here to protect me and how much He loves me. I would recommend this book to people who want a bond with Christ.
