For years, Suzie's been running with her children in tow, determined to not be found by her violent ex-boyfriend. Tired of hiding, she decides to settle down in sweet suburbia. But forget the quiet life, meet Hunter, Suzie's hot next door neighbor.
Masquerading as a private eye, Hunter is much more than he seems. He's what's known as a tracker, and the magical realm he comes from has sent him on a quest to keep his world's existence secret. A real ladies man, Hunter can't understand his attraction to the cute mom next door, but when danger comes knocking on her door, he does everything he can to save Suzie and her kids, even if it means his life.
A vengeful exboyfriend and a predatory shapeshifting dragon are nothing though when compared to the more frightening battle taking place in his heart.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
Amazing story. The "alternate world' was fascinating. I loved the kids in this book. They were very realistic and funny. The story had romance , mystery , excitement and drama. All the things that make a reader fall in love with a book. The "hero" was sexy ,strong and sensitive. The " heroine" was a normal woman. She wasn't the most beautiful or anything she was a real woman and a real mom . The villian in this story was spectacular!! I highly recommend this book for a great escape. This one is a dont miss for sure.
Hunter is not only his name but is also one of his jobs as a realm hunter. His other profession in the human world was as a private investigator because it paid better. When his new neighbor Suzie moves in with three year old twins, his life takes a drastic turn both for the good and the bad. Danger is lurking in the shadows and it is up to Hunter to protect Susie and the twins from an evil ex boyfriend who has kept a big secret as to who he really is. Exciting and heartwarming . I loved it!!
I seriously loved this story! Whereas we spent the last book in this series in the realm, we are between the regular world and the realm here. Secrets are abound for both our characters, and that made finding out about things all the better. They both had things to learn and do, and they did it well. Having two cute kids certainly helped, and hindered, our couple, and they certainly added some pizzazz. Loved the ending and can’t wait to dig into the next book in the series to see what it will hold <3
I think everyone need a neighbour like a hunter oh my gosh was he a bit yummy! Yes I used the word yummy! I enjoyed getting a bit more from the realm but they never spend long enough in it! The kids were just so bloody adorable and I now need two dragon babies! This was a easy quick read and I really enjoyed it. Think more could have been made with the hunting and demise of the dragon but still a decent read.
At least she’s not a virgin…. Because kids…. But if course she was a virgin prior to kids because this book was published in the time of purity culture at its finest. I also hate my FCs having children. Icky.

Audible 23 2 stars. Not as enjoyable in audible. I still enjoyed the story but found the heroine a huge letdown. I find it interesting that I enjoyed reading this book years ago, but found Susie rude, ungracious and gutless in audible. Susie/Suzanne is too erratic in her thinking and behaviour, seems to act the idiot and comes across as gullible and gutless. After the scare in the park with Jared, Susie has the chance to tell Hunter about her ex and get professional help from him, as he offers to track down the ex and see if he’s in the area, to make sure it wasn’t him. Instead she gives us a trite reason about ‘using his name conjuring him up’. Honestly, her children should be her priority and she should take any help offered, then complains about being on the run. I understand this is to drag out the story but it still could have played out the same way from this point forward, even if she’d asked for help. At least I wouldn’t be disgusted by her attitude and behaviour going forward. It is Susan’s fault the children were traumatised and abused by their father. If she had just told Hunter the truth, things would have been different. I felt no pity for her, even for being picked and groomed by the ex. She chose to make excuses for what was happening and the abuse she was taking, but I did feel sorry for the children. Then Susie is rude and ungracious to Hunter’s mother, this is after Beverly has saved both Susie’s and Jessica’s lives, and never apologises or thanks her. Her disbelief is understandable, her rudeness is not. Then when Hunter finally turns up weeks after the Commanders actions, she does not rip into Hunter when he finally turns up. Hormonal and feeling abandoned, she would have behaved differently. Hunter is just so sweet to these kids. His interactions seemed so easy and simple. He is just super likeable all the way through. Loved his mother and sister, his dad, oh boy, what a mean sort. Found the big fight scene a bit silly and over quickly. Very strange to not prefer a book in audible. Listened to in the box set. BOOK REVIEW 4 stars. Enjoyable story with a few twists. A really interesting and enjoyable read with lots of fun, antics and action. Susan does not know she was chosen for a not very nice reason but I loved how strong she was running with her twins to keep them safe. Love the characters we meet and the twins were so sweet. When they had a family intervention at the end, the truth about Hunter’s father, The Commander was a real surprise.
Like any young woman who believed in fairy tales, Suzie thought she had fallen in love with a man older than her. Instead he turned out to be a monster and only had one thing in mind, taking her son. Running away Suzie has made sure there is no trail to find her and her twins, a boy and girl. Suzie is finally beginning to feel comfortable three years later and is more than thrilled to find that her new next door neighbor is eye candy galore.
Hunter has been sent through the realm to where magic doesn't exists. His task is to send back the magical beings that keep crossing over. Hunter is not ready for a relationship, nor is he looking for an instant family but something about Suzie and her children have him questioning if maybe he is ready. When Suzie's ex finds her, Hunter is stunned to find that it is the man he has been looking for and Suzie quickly learns that fairy tales do have an ounce of truth to them.
I liked this one, very fun. The story was not just about Suzie, Hunter had his own story with his father that was interesting. I loved the kids and they talked like their age, which was a relief. Would pick up more in this series, Eve Langlais always writes an unexpected twist to her stories and the heroes are right up there in the favorites column.
I thought this book was pretty good. The Hunter is about a man that guards the border between mundane earth and magical earth known as "the realm". Hunter is capturing those that cross from the realm into the mundane illegally. His undercover story is that he is a private detective. Suzie, a single mother of twins, moves into the house next door and the chemistry simply sizzles between them. Suzie's ex was very abusive and you end up learning he is actually a WereDragon and has recently escaped prison in the realm. He starts to look for Suzie because he wants his son back. I thought the humor about what the three year old twins get up to was pretty funny.
Really enjoyed this book! The twins were adorable and so cute and Hunter and Suzie were so perfect for each other! The chemistry between them was explosive and Hunter was so good with the twins, he adored them and they adored him!
I could have slapped Hunters father though and don't know how Hunter refrained from hitting his father when he learned what he did to Suzie and the twins! Thank god for Hunters mom, she takes no crap from her husband and puts him firmly in his place when all others are scared of him!
I love the ending for them though! They both deserved it!
While it takes place in the same sort of setting, The Hunter is not truly related to book 1 of the series (Wizard's Chance, or I think it's first time around was Taking A Chance). I truly enjoyed this story of a hunter...aptly named Hunter, as he meets his lovely neighbor and her twins. As it turns out, he is hunting someone that hits rather close to Suzie and her kids.
I really enjoy this world Eve Langlais has woven, with magic and non-magic divisions. This, her first series, definitely shows what a vivid imagination she has, and why she's so popular!
I really enjoyed this book. Hunter was a great and well developed character. I enjoyed watching him fight his attraction for Suzie. Their relationship ended up being light-hearted and sweet. Even in the mist of all the BS that was going on, the author still managed to make them happy.
Dragons are always a great touch. The great thing about Langlais is that she is no one trick pony. The battle scenes were just an engrossing as the sex scenes. :)
This book ended up being even more fascinating than the first Realm book. I particularly liked the sudden disappearance of the Boundary at the end. Talk about crazy. That one is gonna leave a mark. I also found the romance truly cute, funny and sweet. Full of lust too. Let me just say they made a wonderful family in the end. The kids were wonderful and apparently only their ability to shift came from their father. Damn that man was awful.

At first I wasn't sure if I would like this. I don't always like little kids in a romance novel, it depends entirely on how annoying they end up being. I have to admit though, the twins won me over pretty quickly and the scenes with Hunter and the kids were sweet. I loved Hunter and the story was enjoyable.
As always with this author, the book was well-written and it was a light, fun read.
I really like reading Eve's books. They are erotic but also have good story lines with them. This book was good, Suzie (h) was a strong independent woman with 2 adorable twins! And Hunter (H) was the ultimate alpha male! The sex was great***
Was a cute little read. I loved the twins they were the best thing in this book and I liked Hunter too. Was hoping it would pick up after Sinclair and Sam's story because I loved that so much and what to see Sinclair's sister get a happy ending but eh, still a great cute book.
Eve does it again. Loved the kids in this book. They were very realistic and funny. The story had romance , mystery , excitement and drama. The "hero" was sexy ,strong and sensitive. The " heroine" was real woman and a real mom.
This is book 2 in the realm series. I wasn’t sure about this one at first because I really wanted the story from the first one to continue. However, this was an enjoyable read.
