Bastante desgastado el tema. Aunque es de lo mejor que he encontrado tratándose de zombies, sin llegar a los lagos sangrientos de otras lecturas referentes a ellos. .

I liked the first couple books in this series. This last one just felt like a bunch of random stuff thrown together to just put an end to it. Definitely an unfortunate end to what started as quite a good story.

I enjoyed the first two books in the series, with a fun take on zombie tales. All the books had significant issues with characterization and coherency, but they were enjoyable and at least the author made the attempt to round out lead characters and create a plot that made (a small amount of) sense.

This book, however, seems to have lost the thread of fun. There is an attempt to flesh out the main characters by giving back story, but this fails to give the characters anything much resembling real personalities. The flashbacks end up destroying the flow of the story, and just pile on the coincidences.

At one point, the author attempts to go all Troma, with a "humorous" interlude in which the xombies attempt to give life meaning by adopting fifties culture as their own. I'm not sure what the point of this was - it read like a bad sitcom - since it added nothing to the story except a few cheesy moments and some filler. The author should consider adding a laugh track to the audio book because that's the only way I would know what's supposed to be funny funny and not funny stupid.

The overall plot is incoherent at best, and I was hoping for a lot better. Book two, for all its flaws (it started veering toward the ridiculous), hinted that there was larger meaning. I really was hoping that the transformation for survival theme would be strong here. All I got was Elvis, and a lot of gibberish that might be satire, but read as desperation.

What the hell, Greatshell? I was expecting post apocalyptic fun, with some of the larger themes brought up in the earlier books; what I got was a big fat disappointment.

Book #3 of Greatshell's "Xombies" series. The first was good, held promise struck some new ground and the in #2 it started going messy. The #3 is basically messier and less defined than even #2. I want to hit the heights too. Greatshell knows how to write and somewhere in there was a great story. He has good characters, good settings, good action (hoo-boy does he have action in #2 and #3). But for what? Having constant blood, gore, mess doesn't exist without a decent plot and somehow after #1 that became muddled and confusing. In #3 for some reason he spends a considerable amount of time rehashing part of #1 with a particular character and later wrecks, I assume, satirical havoc on religion and such. The former doesn't help the plot or the action very much and the latter is mildly entertaining. Also mix into that a strange fascination with Beetle songs, etc. I wish it had been better so I'll "Let It Be".

Wow, what a mess. The trilogy started off great with "Xombies," which I read in 2004. Then I found out earlier this year there were two more books. The second was also very good. And then I read this one. The constant attempts at humor pretty much ruined it for me. It's hard to take the book seriously when the author can't even do it. It's filled with characters I don't care about, doing and saying things that made me roll my eyes so much they nearly fell out of my head. What a pitiful end to a promising series.

Have no idea where I got this book. Anyway to cut a long story short I just started it.
EDIT: Just realized that this is the third book in the trilogy, so I'm gonna read the other books first.

Great end to this fabulous series. Although I think Xombies: Apocalypse Blues is the first book in this trilogy. All good. All well worth the read.

This is a terrific sequel to the second book, and a great stand alone if you haven't read either book! Get it now!

Different...a bit weird but good. Probably should have started with book 1
