This fourth installment in the Amy Hodgepodge series follows the same suit of its predecessors: Amy encounters some difficulties in her fourth-grade life and makes some mature yet hard decisions while surrounded by her incredibly diverse group of level-headed friends. The plot is a bit roundabout in this edition as a lost dog leads to an Eco-friendly fundraiser, but the earnest heart of Amy and these books remains in tact. Of particular note for this book is that the resident mean girl Jennifer and her cohorts actually begin to redeem themselves (slightly) here.
