As a sequel to Back in the Adventures of a Tearaway , Tony marches on following his dream, taking every opportunity the NZ Army offered him. It was a life of travel, adventure, music and fun. Marching On tells of his life as a soldier, a musician, and an outstanding Drum Major/Drill Instructor. He played five different brass instruments and drum majored Civilian, National Bands, and the NZ Army Band, winning numerous NZ and International titles. Considered to be the authority of brass band marching and drill, he had an international reputation. During his military service he served in South East Asia for four years and was happy to have his family travel with him. There were periods of unrest in Malaysia involving operational service. He was awarded the BEM for his services to brass banding in New Zealand.
