This book is a must read for ALL African Americans. It opens your eyes to what the media wants us to see as well as advertising, magazines, slowly putting it's own spin on what we watch and believe as "news". It also points out how the government stole African traditions for their own while poisoning our minds with bs superstitions and beliefs. Trust me after I read this book, I gave it to my son to read. I don't even have tv in my house now

Another great scholarly work from Mr. Browder! A continuation from the first volume, this one is also very detailed yet written in plain English!

This is very similar to the premise of the Isis Papers by Dr. Francis Cress Wellsing. This is not necessarily new to me, but it does help to be vigilant in battling the Big Media narrative as to the Human Condition as it relates to Africans in America (ie from rightwing Fox News and the rest of their ilk, to the issue of erasure, co-opting and such in Hollywood, corporatized Black Music, etc.).

As such, Ive begun to be more diligent in having conversations with my oldest daughter as to how she percieves herself, the music she listens to, the images on screen and how I as a parent am taking a more active hand in combatting these narratives. If I as a father dont fight for the mind of my children, no one else will.

Most important book you'll ever read, un-discloses factual history that is amazingly in-line with your very own ideals, spirit, thinking, the parts you're afraid to say out loud for fear of being incorrect, talking out of turn without proof. Here is the proof. & Quite frankly, your parents are your greatest teachers & who taught them.. So believe.. You do know.

Insightful book full of information from spirituality to the origins of racism. This book is a good starting point for Africans in America who want to learn ways to free their mind from mental slavery and oppression.
