A software architect by profession, Gokul started exploring his creative writing skills 20 years ago - with his first novel Rajakesari. This was followed by many other novels, short stories and articles. From 2010 onwards, he started pursuing academic studies in History with M.A. and M.Phil. degrees, followed by a doctoral research on Chola Ramayana sculptures. His novels are replete with intricate epigraphic, cultural, and historic references drawn from inscriptions, copper plate grants, literatures and living oral traditions. All of his books have been published by Palaniappa brothers. Also, from 2019 onwards, StoryTel India has been publishing his well known works as audiobooks.

So many characters! trying to keep straight is extremely difficult especially when you are listening to audiobooks with no access of ebook or physical copy.
Learn a lot about Chera's culture aka Kerala's culture in this series.
Once the next book arrives (next year?) then I will re-read the entire series and write a comprehensive review.

மிக மிக அற்புதமான படைப்பு. நான் படிக்கவிருக்கும் 100வது புத்தகம் தமிழில், மிகவும் மறக்கமுடியாத மற்றும் சிறப்பான வாசிப்பாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் விரும்பினேன். எழுத்தாளர் கோகுல் சேஷாத்ரி, மற்றும் தீபிகா அருனின் ஒலிப்புத்தகமான உதயபானு வார்க்கடல் ஒரு சிறந்த தேர்வாக இருந்தது. கதையில் நிறைய எதிர்பாராத திருப்பங்கள் உள்ளன. கதையை அது மிகவும் சுவாரஸ்யமாக நகர்த்துகிறது. ஆசிரியர் அவ்வளவு சீக்கிரம் எந்த ஒரு விஷயத்திற்கு வருவதில்லை என்றாலும், கதைக்குள் அவர் வந்தவுடன் மிகவும் சூடு பிடிக்கிறது.

I wanted my 100th book to be a very memorable and special read. Author Gokul Seshadri's Udhayabanu Vaarkadal voiced over by Deepika Arun was a great choice.

இதிலும் நிகழ் காலம் 50 % எனில் கடந்த காலம் 50% இருக்கும் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். இந்நூல் இத்தொடரில் இது வரை இருந்த பல வினாக்களுக்கு விடை சொல்கிறது. இருநிகழ்வுகளைப் பற்றி சொல்லி, அவற்றையும் விரிவாக சொன்னால் தனித் தனி நூல்களாகவே எழுதலாம் என்கிறார். எழுதுவார் என்று எதிர்ப்பாக்கிறேன். 6 நூல்களில் வரும் நிகழ்வுகளை எப்படி track செய்கிறார் என்பது வியப்பாகவும், கதாசிரியரின் உழைப்பும் தெரிகிறது.

Gripping narrative set around a familiar history. Author brings in anecdotes quite often that adds to the narrative. Though I haven't had the chance to read the prequels in this series yet the introduction in this book gave me a comfortable understanding of those. I'll seek for opportunities to read other books in this series.
