El hombre que susurraba a los Ummitas

Rate this book

"In the Earth year of 1950 (March) we arrived on this OOYAA (planet). About two years before in 1948 we picked up a low frequency signal 413,44 megacycles which we were unable to decipher. It had been sent out in 1943. Subsequently we identified it as the radio signal emitted by a Norwegian ship up in Newfoundland..."

Some years ago I was baffled at the advanced nature of scientific knowledge the "ummite letters" contained, as well as the fact that they showed up in different parts of the globe, seemingly, in an "independent" way.

"El hombre que sussuraba à los Ummitas" ("The man who whispered to the Ummites") is a book where one of the main "conduits" of the communications (Jose Luis Peña) is referred as a sort of liar: he presumably worked in a company as engineer and psychologist, when in fact he was not (that qualified). But Jose Peña later on said the Ummites told him to do so ("lie"). You go figure.

The book has plenty of drawings and photos of sightings in Bolivia, Brazil and Spain; but most common are the spacecrafts with a sort of "H" in the underbelly (check the book cover).

Benítez travelled extensively to those nations and interviewed many people connected with the sightings.

It starts with a South African case; Harry Mallard's case.

("Near the mountain, in the shadow zone, an object was landed. The man invited me to follow him")
(Dibujo: F. Ghot.)

Here are some of the conclusions Benítez expounds at the end of the book.

1-"UMMO" is not what you're told; it wasn't investigated with rigor and seriousness.

2-After 10 years of successive interrogations, Jordán Peña doesn't deserve credibility. (The author charges Penã as mentally 'unbalanced' and of being a liar)

3-The author admits, nevertheless, part of the UMMO affair may be true.

4-The military and the CIA knew about the UMMO affair before the invention of the H letter, or supposedly invented, by Peña and his accomplices.

5-The sign of the UMMO in ufo's and their crews is very old (1,000 years, maybe), as with the ethnic Dogon in the heart of Africa makes proof, and other sightings elsewhere on planet earth.

6-And yet a question remains: who's behind those letters? The author says Peña and the CIA are not the ones responsible for the presence of the spacecrafts (whose presence some letters has predicted, namely. in Bolivia and Spain).

7-If the Ummites exist they don't seem to be tall and blond (Nordic) as their letters state them to be. Most of the beings which carried the letter H in their 'clothing' were short, some wearing a 'spacesuit'; yet, in the Curitiba case (Brazil) one was blond.

8-In the UMMO phenomenon there are still unexplained or paranormal facts.

9-One thing is for sure: the manipulators of the Ummo affair, had been themselves manipulated. Non-humans have manipulated humans?
