I really liked this book, it made me cry a lot. In the beginning it was hard for me to make sense of why the point of view kept changing, but it made sense in the end. It turns out that Charlie has this ability to talk with dead people like his brother, not in a creepy way though. This girl, Tess, goes missing in a boat accident and nearly dies but somehow her soul reached out to Charlie and the became friends, but he didn’t know she was dead or almost dead. He eventually finds out and takes a boat to save her life.

Charlie St. Cloud starts out as a tragedy for everyone. Sparks begins by killing off Charlie's brother Sam in an automobile accident in the first part of this novel. Charlie has so much guilt and grief that he needs to overcome after this huge life changing event. The day of Sam's funeral is when everything changes for Charlie. He sees a little boy off in the woods and chases after him. His jaw drops in disbelief. His brother is standing right in front of him holding his baseball glove along with a baseball. Charlie makes time everyday to go out and play catch with his dead brother. Although, Charlie has to make a life changing decision after a girl becomes part of his life. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in romance books. Charlie St. Cloud is definitely one of the better books I have read.

This is a romance story that pulls at any readers heart strings. It has been made into a movie which makes the characters come to life after reading the book. Charlie St Cloud is a teenage boy who get into a serious car accident with his younger brother, Sam. This results in Sam's death, but to Charile's luck, he can still see his brother. They make a deal that they will play baseball every night before sunset which Charlie holds true until he meets a girl. Little does he know when he meets her that his powers to see people after death will become very helpful in saving this girls life. It is a action packed, nail biting story that any teenage girl would love to read. There is a strong sense of determination and love from Charlie in this book. For this purpose, I would not incorporate this into a classroom as it is more of a pleasurable and easy read. I would encourage any advanced adult reader to take the time to read this heartwarming story.
