The Corner II: The Queenpin
Lucky-is in charge while Slim is away. He rules with an iron fist, but when someone from his past steps back in his life, he realizes that he must protect that person from the streets. When she met Carlos Fuentes, the son of Chicago's leading Latin drug dealer, at the young age of sixteen she immediately fell in love. Now older and married to Carlos she is rich, safe and wants for nothing. But when she eavesdrops on a conversation between Carlos and his father, she hears that the senior Fuentes doesn't like his son being married to a black woman and wants him to father an all Latin son to carry the family tradition. This sends the unstable LaTanza over the edge. Fearing that she and her daughter will be left out in the cold she carries out a deadly plan-a plan to become 'The Queenpin'. Rivalries explode. Love is found while it is also lost. Betrayal causes people to hurt the ones they love-all for the love of money. Who will come out on top-or even alive?

can’t put down kind of book, just that good
I had to give another 5 to this author and his book. The storyline is still floating well. And the characters are the same just a few extra characters introduced in this book and that makes the story just that more interesting. Each character basically has their own unique story. I’m happy Lisa got her life together but I was hoping for a second chance love for her and Terrance. I still iffy about Devin, I don’t think she should marry him, he still hasn’t told the whole truth. I was contemplating between Devin and John John as the undercover, so I like that little twist. Glad to have Slim back. I know it was too hard for Noonie to pulled that trigger on DC. Wow, Tanzia is so damaged and broken, my heart hurts for her. But she should’ve just asked her husband instead of reacting to the unknown. Now, Cat is a disgrace to women. There are cliffhangers so I’m assuming I just got to keep reading. Trouble is on its way, Love and Happiness.

The Corner II is a sequel. It started off where Pt.1 ended. I loved the first book and was so happy book 2 was just as good. The book is excellent. The storylines are great. This author has a new fan.

Alex has done it again. With some suprises and shockers that you will certainly not see coming. Slim is back and everyone is not who they appear to be. LaTanza lets emotions lead her to make some very bad choices. Get ready to go on a ride!!

Author put in too many characters. I got confused trying to keep up with new characters. And did not sum up the first coroner.
